摘要： An electrochemical cell that cycles lithium ions includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode current collector spaced apart from the positive electrode, and an ionically conductive electrolyte disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode current collector. The negative electrode current collector is of unitary one-piece construction and has a three-dimensional porous structure that defines an interconnected network of open pores. During charging of the electrochemical cell, lithium metal is deposited within the open pores of the negative electrode current collector.

摘要： The present disclosure relates to a lithium electrode, comprising an electrode composite comprising a porous metallic current collector, and lithium metal inserted into pores present in the metallic current collector; and a protective membrane for lithium ion conduction, the protective membrane being formed on at least one surface of the electrode composite.The lithium electrode according to the present disclosure can increase contact surface between lithium metal and a current collector to improve the performances of a lithium secondary battery, and can exhibit uniform electron distribution therein to prevent the growth of lithium dendrites during the operation of a lithium secondary battery, thereby improving the safety of a lithium secondary battery. Furthermore, even though the lithium electrode is coated with a protective membrane for lithium ion conduction on the surface thereof, the protective membrane can be prevented from being peeled off during the charge and discharge of a lithium secondary battery.

摘要： An electrochemical cell has a silver vanadium oxide cathode material formed into a pellet shape which expands as the cell is discharged. A cathode current collector circumferentially surrounds the cathode pellet and is in contact with the peripheral edge of the cathode pellet to prevent peripheral cathode expansion. The peripheral cathode current collector maintains a stable cell impedance during cell discharge. The cell has a D-shaped housing in which the cathode is disposed adjacent to a first interior surface, and a lithium anode is disposed adjacent to a second interior surface.

[Also in Groups II and XL (b)] To produce a layer of semi-conductve material of one conductivity type on a body of semi-conductive material of opposite conductivity type, the body is mounted in a chamber through which passes the vapour of a compound of semi-conductive material including an impurity material characteristic of the one conductivity type, and the chamber is heated to decompose the vapour to deposit the layer required. Germanium discs 28 of nconductivity are mounted in a chamber 11; a mass 27 of germanium of p-type conductivity, e.g. containing 1 per cent gallium, is placed at the entrance to the chamber and is treated with hydrogen, from inlet pipes 12, 13 and iodine vapour, from iodine 26 in heated chamber 10; germanium iodides are formed, and the temperature of the chamber 11 is controlled by heating coils 20, 21, 22 to produce a temperature gradient as shown in Fig. 2, so that germanium of p-type conductivity is deposited on the discs 28. Suitable impurities are indium, aluminium or boron. Instead of iodine, use may be made of bromine or chlorine. The discs may be of p-type conductivity and the layer of n-type conductivity. Further layers of appropriate conductivity type may be added. Silicon may be used instead of germanium.
