In one embodiment, the glass member can have improved strength by forming its edges with a predetermined geometry and/or by chemically strengthening the edges. Advantageously, the glass member can be not only thin but also adequately strong to limit susceptibility to damage. In one embodiment, the glass member can pertain to a glass cover for a housing for an electronic device. The glass cover can be provided over or integrated with a display, such as a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) display.

摘要： Optical assemblies for use in medical or other devices so as to image an object under examination onto an image sensor include a plurality of lens elements that can be retained in lens barrel. The lens elements and the lens barrel can be sealed with a compressible gasket. In one example, at least one lens element is made of an injection-moldable plastic and at least one lens element is made of a relatively dispersive optical glass. A lens barrel diameter or lens diameter can be selected to permit access to the object under examination with surgical or other tools. Aperture plates can be situated so as to reduce flare in the object image.

摘要： An infrared sight glass for aftermarket fitment around an opening of an enclosure which enables thermal inspection of electrical equipment within the enclosure. The mounting of the sight glass is performed externally which avoids having to access the interior of the enclosure. The infrared sight glass comprises an infrared transmitting medium to facilitate use of an external infrared thermal imaging camera for monitoring the electrical equipment. A removable protective cover is locked into a closed position by security key screws and is easily removed by a slight twist when the key screws are loosened.

摘要： A view port of chemical vapor deposition apparatus for manufacturing semiconductor devices prevents heat loss in a chamber during a plasma deposition process. The view port includes a bracket protruding at the circumference of an opening in an electrode serving as a wall of a chamber of the apparatus, a transparent window pressed by the bracket against the wall via an O-ring, a pivoting cap for capping an opening in the bracket aligned with the window, and heat-insulative material and/or a heating element integral with the cap so as to be positioned close to the window when the cap is closed. The heating element can be a resistive heating wire or a warm air duct formed by a hose or the like. During the deposition process, the temperature of the window is maintained, thereby minimizing the tendency of polymer to adhere to the window.

摘要： A system for eliminating distortion of optical ports during supersonic flight includes an electrohydraulic pump which is controlled by a potentiometer actuated by expansion and contraction of a gas that acts on a piston which is mounted in a cylinder. The cylinder is mounted in thermal contact with a frame which supports one or more layers of optical glass. The electrohydraulic pump operates to pump cooling fluid into the frame thereby cooling the frame and the optical glass when the gas expands as a result of heating during supersonic flight.
