摘要： The present invention is directed to a system for measuring noise and velocity of a single object or surface in a soundscape of multiple noise-emitting objects or surfaces. The present invention features a system comprising a heterodyne signal system comprising a signal emitter, a signal receiver, and a signal processing component capable of directing an original signal to the object or surface, accepting a return signal Doppler shifted and mixed with the original signal, and removing the original signal, resulting in an output signal. The system may further comprise an acoustic spectrum analyzer capable of calculating a radiation-factor from the output signal, calculating a mean-squared velocity value by calculating a variance of a spectral shape of the output signal, calculating a noise-sound-power value from the mean-squared velocity value and the radiation-factor, and converting the noise-sound-power value into an acoustic decibel value.

摘要： The inventive system for analyzing electromagnetic radiation comprises: an enclosure filled with gas containing atoms of a known type, at least one light source emitting light capable of exciting the atoms of the known type in the gas, a source of the electromagnetic radiation to be analyzed arranged such that the emitted electromagnetic radiation acts on the atoms of the known type in the gas, and a sensor for capturing light emitted by and/or passed through the gas. Further, the system comprises an electrical field source and/or magnetic field source configured to establish a predefined electrical field and/or magnetic field acting on the atoms of the known type in the gas. The light captured by the sensor reflects a response of the atoms of the known type in the gas on the electrical field and/or the magnetic fields, the light from the at least one light source, and the electromagnetic radiation to be analyzed.

摘要： An optical domain spectrum analyzer/channelizer employs multicasting of an analog signal onto a wavelength division multiplexing grid, followed by spectral slicing using a periodic optical domain filter. This technique allows for a large number of high resolution channels. Wideband, 100% duty cycle, spectrum analysis or channelization is made possible permitting continuous time wideband spectral monitoring. The instantaneous bandwidth of the spectrum analyzer/channelizer is equal to the full radio frequency bandwidth of the analyzer/channelizer.

摘要： A wideband frequency analyzer and method of performing spectral analysis of a wideband signal is provided. The wideband frequency analyzer includes a first electro-optic modulator, a second electro-optic modulator, and an optical transversal filter. The first electro-optic modulator is operable to modulate an electrical input signal, such as a wideband radio-frequency signal, onto an optical carrier signal to output a modulated optical signal. The second electro-optic modulator is operable to mix the modulated optical signal with an electrical chirp signal to output a chirped modulated optical signal. The optical transversal filter is operable to filter the chirped modulated optical signal to output an electrical output signal. A method of performing spectral analysis of a wideband signal includes the step of modulating the wideband signal onto an optical carrier signal to generate a modulated optical signal. The modulated optical signal is then mixed with a chirp signal to generate a chirped modulated optical signal. The chirped modulated optical signal is then filtered to generate an electrical output signal representative of the amplitude of the Fourier transform of the electrical input signal.
