A cold plate is disposed within the cabinet, and the cold plate is configured to absorb heat within the cabinet. The cooler further includes a defrosting system that includes a sensor configured to detect a presence of frost on a surface of the cold plate, a heating element affixed to the surface of the cold plate that is configured to at least partially melt frost on the cold plate, and a control unit configured to selectively activate and deactivate the heating element when the presence of frost is determined by the sensor.

The controller is configured to: in response to a defrosting operation starting time arriving, perform a defrosting operation mode including a pre-defrosting cooling mode, a heater operation mode and a post-defrosting cooling mode; perform a continuous operation mode, in which the defrosting heater is continuously on; and when a temperature change rate sequentially increases, decreases and increases again, perform a pulse operation mode, in which the defrosting heater is repeatedly turned on and off. Accordingly, defrosting efficiency may be improved, and power consumption may be reduced.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, a computer program product, and a computer system for predictive maintenance of refrigeration cases. A computer collects a temperature time series for a refrigeration case and, based on the temperature time series, learns a refrigeration case signature for both non-frost and defrost cycles. The computer generates features based on the refrigeration case signature and compares the refrigeration case signature to real time, or observed, temperatures and features using a rule-based and/or machine learning framework. Based on determining that the real time data varies beyond a threshold from the refrigeration case signature, the computer identifies a failure symptom of the refrigeration case and diagnoses a root cause of the symptom or failure. In addition, the computer may activate an alarm and open a work order corresponding to the root cause of the symptom or failure.

The control device determines a frosting condition on the evaporator from an output of the frost detecting means and individually controls the evaporator heating device and the drain-pan heating device in accordance with the determination result.

The sensor module includes a light source configured to emit light toward the evaporator when activated and to deactivate in response to a lockout signal. The sensor module also includes a light sensor configured to determine an amount of the emitted light reflected by the evaporator and to generate a detected light signal that corresponds to the amount of the emitted light reflected by the evaporator. The control module is configured to receive the detected light signal from the light sensor and to compare the detected light signal to a preset threshold. The control module is also configured to generate a termination signal when the detected light signal is less than the preset threshold and to generate the lockout signal when the detected light signal is greater than the preset threshold.
