    • A water-cooled cremating platform for use in a cremating stove includes a metallic upper plate, a metallic main body and a metallic side plate. The upper plate is removably positioned on an open upper side of the main body for holding a dead body to be cremated. The main body has several guide plates spaced apart to form a water route for a flow of cooling water. The side plate is affixed to the main body, and has an air exit, an overflow outlet, a water inlet and a water outlet in open communication with the water route. Radiating chips are provided, extending from bottom of the upper plate into the water route such that the upper plate can be cooled down very rapidly after cremation before the next step of collecting of ashes, to be started without a substantial delay.

    • An incinerator and recyclable material recovery apparatus and method for processing refuse. An incineration means is disclosed for loading and shaping a refuse mass on a refractory transport means and conveying the refuse mass through an incinerator to achieve ecologically acceptable combustion of combustible materials, melting and selective separation of metallic and glass components of the refuse mass and removal of non-combustible materials. The novel method and apparatus provides a refuse mass transport means having means to allow removal of water from the refuse mass during the pre-heat and combustion stages of incineration and provides a means to selectively remove glass and metallic portions of the refuse mass as the melting temperature of these materials are reached during the incineration process.

    • The invention provides a tunnel kiln for firing ceramic porous bodies which can fire ceramic porous bodies containing organic binders in a shorter period of time than in conventional methods without producing breaks or requiring nitrogen gas. The tunnel kiln includes a preheating zone 1, a firing zone 2, and a cooling zone 3 and fires the ceramic porous bodies loaded on a carriage 7 by driving it in a furnace. A heat storage regenerative burner 10 is used as means of heating the firing zone 2 so that low-oxygen-concentration exhaust gas discharged from the heat storage regenerative burner 10 may be returned to an exhaust gas return line 14 and supplied into the preheating zone 1. The exhaust gas return line 14 may be provided with a combustion device 17 that reduces the oxygen concentration by consuming oxygen contained in the exhaust gas.

    • A carrier is provided as a part of a conveyor in an installation for burning away or deflagration of explosives. The carrier includes a base plate and a vat of scale and temperature-proof or resistant material mounted on the base plate for containing the explosives. The installation for the deflagration includes a deflagration reactor through which the carriers passes one after another in assembly-line operation through an entry zone and an exit zone. The invention is characterized in that the vat is mounted in spaced relation from the base plate by pillar-like supports which are distributed symmetrically on the area of the vat bottom; and in that a vertically upright bulkhead wall is arranged at least at one face of the base plate. The width and height dimensions of the bulkhead wall are such that they close the entry zone and the exit in substantially air tight manner toward the outside.
