摘要： A control device for an internal combustion engine can prevent misfiring in cylinders of the internal combustion engine. When a deceleration request is issued while the engine load of an internal combustion engine is in a predetermined high-load region, and the vehicle is decelerated so that the engine load transitions from the high-load region to a low-load region to respond to the deceleration request, the control device performs control that continues a fuel supply from injectors of a first cylinder and a fourth cylinder, and cuts a fuel supply from injectors of a second cylinder and a third cylinder. Furthermore, condensed water generated in an intercooler is caused to flow between two guide devices provided at the bottom of a convergence portion of an intake manifold to thereby flow into intake branch pipes of the second cylinder and third cylinder.

The first branch paths connect the first outlets to the first cylinders. The second branch paths connect the second outlets to the second cylinders. The protrusion is provided on the lower wall between a closest first air outlet and a closest second air outlet.

摘要： An engine includes a cylinder block defining a bank of cylinders having physically adjacent first and second cylinders. The engine also has a gas compressor configured to pressurize an ambient airflow for delivery to the first cylinder and the second cylinder. The engine additionally has intake valves configured to control delivery of the pressurized airflow as a first airstream to the first cylinder and a second airstream to the second cylinder for combustion therein. A firing interval for the two adjacent cylinders results in the first airstream temporally overlapping the second airstream. A charge-air cooler is configured to cool the pressurized airflow prior to delivery thereof to the first and second cylinders and includes a cold-side plenum for discharging the pressurized airflow toward the first and second cylinders. A partition in the cold-side plenum is configured to separate the first airstream from the second airstream and thereby minimize interference therebetween.

摘要： An intake manifold is provided that controls swirl on entry to a combustion chamber. Each intake manifold includes a fin or rib portion positioned to reduce or eliminate swirl induced by the configuration of the intake manifold, particularly when used in a large engine having a left bank and a right bank of combustion chambers. By controlling swirl induced by the intake manifold, swirl consistency is improved between engine cylinders and between the left bank and the right bank, improving the consistency of power output and reducing emissions, particularly particulate emissions, also called smoke.

The charge-air cooler and the exhaust line may be arranged in the housing such that the exhaust gas communicated into the mixing chamber may bypass the charge-air cooler.
