摘要： In a turbocharged internal combustion engine (ICE) system, a catalytic treatment device receives exhaust gases from the ICE after they have passed through the turbocharger turbine. The system includes a secondary air pump (SAP) for injecting pressurized air into the exhaust gases ahead of the catalytic treatment device. The SAP is a single-stage centrifugal compressor that includes an air recirculation passage for causing a first portion of the air pressurized by the SAP to be continuously recirculated back to the inlet of the SAP, which is effective for heating the air in the volute of the SAP. A second portion of the pressurized air, having thereby been heated, is injected into the exhaust gases proceeding toward the catalytic treatment device.

摘要： A water-cooled compressor housing assembly for a turbocharger includes a compressor housing that defines an open-ended cavity extending axially downstream into the compressor housing, and a separately formed cover that is affixed to the compressor housing so as to close the open end of the cavity and thereby define a coolant passage for a liquid coolant to be circulated through. A coolant inlet and a coolant outlet are provided for supplying coolant into and exhausting coolant from the coolant passage. The compressor housing has a simplified geometry that is manufacturable by sand casting without needed a sand core for the coolant passage, or by die casting.

摘要： A scroll structure of a centrifugal compressor according to an embodiment is a scroll structure of a centrifugal compressor having a scroll passage formed in spiral shape, comprising: a tongue portion separating the scroll passage from an outlet passage connected to the downstream side of the scroll passage at the most downstream position of the scroll passage in a passage connecting portion where a winding start portion and a winding end portion of the scroll passage intersect; and a ridge portion protruding from an inner peripheral surface of the scroll passage on the axially downstream side of the centrifugal compressor toward the axially upstream side of the centrifugal compressor, with a protruding height toward the axially upstream side gradually increasing toward the tongue portion from a starting position that is located upstream from the tongue portion in the scroll passage. The starting position is a position at an angle of 8 degrees or less in the circumferential direction of the centrifugal compressor from the tongue portion toward the upstream side of the scroll passage.
