One embodiment of an apparatus for separating strands of floss, string, thread or yarn from a bundle that consists of an attachment device (12) with low mass, low moment of inertia and low rotational air resistance that attaches to one end of the bundle (10). The opposing end of the attachment device (12) is connected to a swivel assembly (14). The opposing end of the swivel assembly (14) is attached to a rotational energy absorption device (16) with higher mass, higher moment of inertia and higher rotational air resistance. The rotational energy absorption device (16) is depicted in one embodiment as a bob. Other embodiments are described and shown.

摘要： A face mask comprising an elongated sheet of porous material having upper and lower longitudinal edges and transverse side edges. A line of stitches of elastic material is sewn to the material along both its side edges, and a length of elastic cord at each side edge is secured to the material by interweaving with the line of stitches thereat. A free intermediate portion of the elastic cord is formed between the ends at which the cord is interwoven with the stitches to the porous material, and the free intermediate portion forms an ear loop. The elastic material is sewn to the porous material and interwoven with the cord lengths while the porous material is taut so that when the porous material is relaxed, the elastic material exerts a pull on the porous material to gather and contract the material at the side edges. In the manufacture of the masks, the porous material is continuously withdrawn from a roll thereof by drive rollers and advanced through a sewing machine where the line of stitches is continuously sewn along each of the opposite side edges of the material while the material is taut. The cord is periodically interwoven along each side edge with the line of stitches, and a cutter downstream of the sewing machine cuts the porous material transversely thereof at successive spaced locations at which the cord is interwoven with the line of stitches.

A predetermined range of lengths of the connected together series of partially completed shirt cuffs is continuously accumulated from the sewing machine, and are continually fed from the accumulation to a cutter, and are separated by cutting the web of lining material adjacent the trailing edge of a pattern part so that each partially completed shirt cuff is formed with a short length of the web of lining material protruding from the shirt cuff panel pattern part, and the pattern parts are stacked.

摘要： There is provided a draping conveyor having a narrow upper margin, a flatwork piece feeding means for feeding sequentially flatwork pieces to a draping station, and flatwork piece engaging means for engaging the flatwork piece at the draping station and pushing a portion thereof over the top of the narrow margin of the conveyor as the feeding means continues to operate, so the flatwork piece is draped over the conveyor with a fold located on one side thereof and the confronting portions thereof extending from the fold depending and both exposed on the other side of the conveyor. The draping conveyor is moved first to a sewing station on the opposite sides of which sewing machines are positioned so operators can readily grasp the exposed end portions of the flatwork piece delivered thereto and apply the same to their sewing machines simultaneously. The flatwork pieces fed sequentially to the draping station are formed from the unwound portion of a roll of flatwork piece forming material which is carried by said feeding means past a severance station. The feeding means is momentarily stopped to allow a severing means to move across the flatwork piece forming material to sever a flatwork piece from the end of the unwound portion of the roll of such material.
