摘要： A presser foot position retainer includes a presser foot and a restricting member. The presser foot is swingably attachable to a presser holder of a sewing machine. The presser foot includes a shaft extending in an axial direction, a restricted portion, and a pressing surface configured to press a workpiece. The restricting member includes a restricting portion capable of contacting the restricted portion. The restricting member is attachable to the presser holder. The restricting member is configured to move between a first position and a second position by a user operation. When the restricting member is located at the second position, the restricting portion is in contact with the restricted portion to limit a swingable range within which the presser foot attached to the presser holder is swingable about the shaft to less than that when the restricting member is located at the first position.

In front of the turn-back device, a feed belt and a cloth presser foot are arranged opposite to each other with a cloth feeding path in between. By virtue of operation of a rotary solenoid performed on the basis of a detection result of a detector arranged in front of the opposing portion, the cloth presser foot is raised and lowered and thereby holds the cloth in cooperation with the feed belt so as to exert a movement force in the right and left directions onto the cloth.

摘要： The present invention relates to a seaming apparatus (10) for joining, along a seam without thread, two or more flexible sheets (12, 14). The apparatus comprises bonding means (16, 18) for bonding together at least two flexible sheet materials. The bonding means has a nip portion (36) for releasably engaging together sheet material, and drive means (20, 22) formed and arranged for engaging sheet material, and moving it incrementally through the bonding means. The drive means is formed and arranged to co-operate with the nip portion so as to sequentially nip then drive material through the apparatus wherein only one of the nip portion or the drive means is in contact with sheet material at any given moment. A method for joining flexible sheets by use of the apparatus of the invention is also described.

摘要： A presser foot for use in sewing an elongate ribbon-like material to a fabric sheet includes a sole and an adjustable ribbon/sequin guide assembly through which the ribbon-like material slidably passes. The ribbon/sequin guide assembly includes a tubular guide portion which slidably envelopes a portion of the ribbon-like material, and defines, in connection with the sole, a needle dropping gap through which the needle of a sewing machine penetrates the fabric to sew the ribbon-like material thereto. The ribbon/sequin guide assembly is laterally movable, as a unit, by the positioning of a nut on a threaded shank which is fixed relative to the sole. Extending upwardly from the tubular guide portion of the ribbon/sequin guide assembly is a U-shaped yoke which is slidably received onto the threaded shank. A nut, which is threaded onto the shank, is positioned within the yoke to move the ribbon/sequin guide assembly laterally as the nut is rotated about the shank. A stop guide pin fixed to the sole and extending parallel to the shank engages a portion of the ribbon/sequin guide assembly to prevent rotation of the guide assembly relative to the sole.

The sole plate is provided with inclined flanges on its upper surface and aligned openings beneath the flanges. When the sole plate is moved upwardly toward the support member the projecting ends of the pin assembly are engaged by the ramps and compressed toward each other to permit the projecting ends to engage in the openings in the sole plate upon release of the compressive force on said ends.
