    • A stretching apparatus of fibre tows in a pressurized steam environment includes an elongated stretching chamber having a generally rectangular section of a low height, within which the tows are treated with saturated or overheated steam at high temperature and pressure and simultaneously undergo a mechanical stretching operation. The stretching chamber has a width sufficient to house multiple tows mutually flanked in a running plane and is formed within a stretching chest made of aluminum. The stretching chest is housed in a supporting structure, having a higher structural rigidity than the stretching chest, which includes a plurality of contact elements apt to determine a predefined position of the stretching chest with respect to a direction perpendicular to the tow running plane and to allow a limited mobility of the stretching chest in the other two mutually perpendicular directions which lie in the plane, length and width respectively.

    • The invention relates to a process for melt-spinning, drawing and winding multiple synthetic threads and to an apparatus for performing the process. The synthetic threads are spun concurrently side by side through extrusion of fine filamentous strands, cooled down and hauled off to be then collectively drawn as a sheet of threads and wound up on bobbins. To obtain ideally identical physical properties in the collective treatment of the threads, the threads are hauled off independently of each other by separate individual godets after extrusion and before collective drawing. This makes it possible to realize for each thread the same conditions during extrusion, cooling and hauling off. The apparatus includes multiple individual godets arranged side by side, which are arranged upstream of the drawing facility and are each associated with one of the threads. To pull off the threads, the individual godets are configured to be individually driveable.

    • A process and apparatus for drawing polyamide yarn in which the yarn having a lubricating finish is drawn while being spirally advanced in frictional contact with the outer surface of a yarn draw assist element. In such process and apparatus, the outer surface of the draw assist element moves at a speed at least 100 times slower than the speed at which the yarn is advanced. From the draw assist element, the yarn directly advances to a roll initial contact location on a pair of space-apart heated rolls and spirally advances on the rolls through at least one wrap in contact with the outwardly-facing surfaces of the heated rolls. The distance that the yarn spirally advances longitudinally in the wrap can be said to define the wrap advance on the rolls. The roll initial contact location of the heated rolls is oscillated by moving the outer surface of the draw assist element in relation to the pair of heated rolls to oscillate the wrap on the rolls a distance which is at least equal to the wrap advance. The process and apparatus advantageously prevent the build-up of deposits on the heated rolls.
