    • A tension control and yarn handling system for a V creel system or the like comprising a plurality of mast assemblies of vertically elongated mast members arranged along parallel vertical axes and spanning the height of a yarn package array each having plural vertically spaced yarn threading stations located adjacent the respective yarn feed-off paths from the respective packages. The mast members at each yarn threading station have a yarn tension control device including confronting plate surfaces magnetically attracted together for tension control between which the yarn is drawn and have yarn threading guide devices movable collectively on the associated mast member from a raised position disposing a yarn guide slot therein in upwardly open yarn receiving condition to a lowered yarn capturning position closing said guide slot to retain yarn therein. The threading guide devices each include a yarn motion sensor providing a monitoring beam across a guide aperture of a yarn hooking slot and electronic circuitry is provided to produce defect signals signifying yarn stoppage, entanglements and defects. A yarn cutter gate device is also provided on each mast assembly adjacent each yarn path having a cutter blade and an associated pivoted guard lever arm to normally position the yarn at a non-cutting location and to expose the blade to cut the yarn when the lever arm is released from guarding position.

    • A device for tensioning and drawing back warp yarns brought from a creel to a weaving machine. The tensioning and drawing back device keeps tension and if necessary draws back warp yarns (2) led from a bobbin (1) to a weaving machine. A supporting body (6) has a curved friction surface to support the warp yarn (2) between the bobbin (1) and the weaving machine. A first (7) and a second tensioning element (8) exert a tensile force on the warp yarn (2), respectively, in front of and behind the curved friction surface (6). The tensioning elements (7), (8) can be suspended from the warp yarn (2) and for example only through their own weight may exert this tensile force. This device easily draws back the warp yarn (2) out of the weaving area. The replacement of a bobbin (1) occurs without interruption or disturbance of the weaving process.

    • In a reeling machine a multiplicity of yarns are pulled from respective supplies and wound up on a beam and each yarn is associated with a sensor which produces an output whose state indicates if the respective yarn is broken or not present. Each sensor is periodically scanned to read the state of its output and the reeling machine is stopped when one of the scanned outputs corresponds to a broken or not present condition of the respective yarn. An output is simultaneously generated indicating exactly which yarn is broken or not present. The sensor are connected to a matrix and the matrix is scanned to read the sensor outputs.

    • An automatic supervisory system for a warper comprising one or more detection units for detecting abnormality on the yarns to be wound up on the warper and a central control unit including means for indicating and recording the substance of abnormality and shutting down the warper drive upon detection of the abnormality. The detection unit comprises a detector, an amplifier and a priority indication device, and the central control unit includes indicators, counters and a switching mechanism. The indicator in the priority indication device is lighted by an output signal from the amplifier in the detection unit. This is synchronized with lighting of the pertinent indicator and operation of the corresponding counter in the central control unit, and the switching mechanism is also activated to stop the warping machine bed.

    • A beaming machine (beamer) suitable to run any common width beam for Raschel-type knitting machines, having three beams or heads with individual traverse settings so that different yarn end counts can be simultaneously wound on each beam. Uniform yarn tension is obtained at each beam by a series of two rollers positioned between the beam and the yarn creel over which each yarn end must pass. An evenly wound beam is thereby obtained for each of the three beams. Doffing time is minimized by the tensioning rollers in conjunction with pigtail-shaped yarn end guides mounted on one of a plurality of reeds adapted for the various end counts capable of being wound by the machine. Yarn breakage is detected by the breaking of a light beam in conjunction with an air sheet generated from an air slit for each beam. An air sheet is directed toward each yarn sheet so as to blow any broken yarn end across the light beam and thereby electronically initiate a shut-down of the beamer.
