摘要： The invention shows an apparatus for recycling bituminous material bodies by melting, in particular for recycling bituminous composite material bodies comprising a composite material and a bituminous material, in particular roofing materials, in particular in the form of bituminous covering layers of roofing sheets, the apparatus including: a vessel having a vessel wall surrounding an interior space of the vessel extending along a vertical axis of the vessel for receiving the bituminous material bodies, a bottom plate and a compression plate extending transverse to the vertical axis wherein at least the compression plate has a number of through flow orifices adapted to allow a through flow of molten bituminous material, wherein the plates are movable along the vertical axis such that in a first operating state the compression plate is in a middle position for forming a melting space of larger size between the compression plate and the bottom plate for melting bituminous material in the melting space wherein the bottom plate is in a melting position, in a second operating state the compression plate is in a lower position for forming a compression space of minor size between the compression plate and the bottom plate for compressing solid residues and/or solid composite material in the compression space, and wherein molten bituminous material is retained in a storing space above the compression plate for storing and/or discharging bituminous material, wherein the bottom plate is in a compression position, wherein the compression plate is movable from the middle position to the lower position.

The cake shake-out station includes an extraction apparatus equipped with a pusher intended for acting on the outside of the pan bottoms to produce resilient deformation of such bottoms and twisting of the pans to separate the pan from the bitumen cake contained therein.

摘要： A method for controlling pitch still operations is disclosed comprising measuring the temperature of a sample of pitch from the still at a preselected viscosity value, comparing the measured temperature with a predetermined temperature value, and adjusting the parameters of the still operation in response to the comparison. An apparatus for carrying out the method is also disclosed comprising a means for withdrawing and returning a sample of pitch from the reactor, a chamber for holding the sample of pitch, the chamber having a means for heating and cooling the sample, a temperature sensing device and a viscosity measuring device located in the chamber, and a means for recording the temperature value when the viscosity has reached a predetermined value. Optionally and preferably, the apparatus has a means for comparing the temperature value measured when the viscosity has reached the preselected value with the predetermined temperature value and adjusting the parameters of the pitch production in response thereto.

摘要： This invention provides an improved method and an improved apparatus for cutting bitumen cakes or like products from a sheet of the product previously cast in a flat-bottomed basin, during the cooling of the sheet. The cakes are cut out of strips previously cut out of said sheet. A transverse girder mounted on wheels span the basin, and suspended from the girder is a carriage supporting a pivoted heated cutter. As the cutter moves in the cutting direction it cuts a transverse strip of product and carries along a trolley provided with a wedge member adapted at the same time to raise the cut strip. The carriage also comprises a pusher arm whereby, during the return stroke of said carriage, said pusher arm can drive the fully cut strip towards another cutter of the guillotine type which cuts the cakes out of the strip. During the strip cutting step, the carriage also carries along a belt so as to insert the same under the strip as it is cut by said first cutter.

摘要： A method of transporting non-volatile bituminous materials from a first location to a second location involves carrying a plurality of irregular bricks formed by the bituminous material in transport chambers carried by vehicles. Bricks are defined by a plurality of non-planar surface, which create gaps between adjacent bricks, and can further include polymer skeletons and other features that help them float. The bricks can travel by land, sea, air, or rail and need not be heated while in transit. Transport chambers have active or preferably passive environmental control systems to circulate cooling air, water, or other substances through the transport chamber and the gaps between adjacent bricks. In a preferred embodiment, ambient air circulates among the bricks during travel by land and ambient water circulates among the bricks during marine travel. The vehicles carrying the transport chambers can be low-emissions or zero-emission vehicles including fuel-cell powered trains and ships.
