摘要： A method of making an antimicrobial composite article, including the steps: providing a matrix comprising a polymeric material; providing a plurality of second phase particles comprising an antimicrobial agent; melting the matrix to form a matrix melt; distributing the plurality of second phase particles in the matrix melt at a second phase volume fraction to form a composite melt; forming a composite article from the composite melt; and treating the composite article to form an antimicrobial composite article having an exterior surface comprising an exposed portion of the matrix and the plurality of second phase particles. The distributing step can employ an extrusion process. The forming a composite article step can employ an injection molding process. The treating step can employ abrading and plasma-treating the article to define the exterior surface.

摘要： The present invention relates to a composition for forming a conductive pattern which allows micro conductive patterns to be formed on various polymeric resin products or resin layers by a very simplified process, a method for forming a conductive pattern using the composition, and a resin structure having the conductive pattern. The composition for forming a conductive pattern comprises: a polymeric resin; and a nonconductive metallic compound including a first metal, a second metal and a third metal, wherein the nonconductive metallic compound has a three-dimensional structure including a plurality of first layers (edge-shared octahedral layers) having a structure in which octahedrons comprising two metals from among the first metal, the second metal and the third metal which share the edges thereof with one another are two-dimensionally connected to one other, and a second layer which includes a metal of a different type from the first layer and is arranged between adjacent first layers, and wherein a metallic core including the first metal, the second metal or the third metal or an ion thereof is formed from the nonconductive metallic compound by electromagnetic radiation.

摘要： A method of synthesizing bimetallic oxide nanocomposites includes the steps of: providing a first metal salt solution; adding an oxidizing agent to the first metal salt solution while degassing the solution with an inert gas; heating the first metal salt solution; adding a second metal salt solution to the heated first metal salt solution to form a reaction mixture; adding a solution comprising a poly (ionic liquid) into the reaction mixture; adding a first base into the reaction mixture; adding a second base while stirring and maintaining a temperature ranging from about 40° C. to about 65° C. to provide a solution including a bimetallic oxide nanocomposite precipitate. The first metallic salt solution can include FeCl3 dissolved in water. The second metallic salt solution can include CuCl2 dissolved in water. The bimetallic oxide nanocomposites can be combined with epoxy resin to coat a steel stubstrate.

摘要： Provided are methods for using compositions of matter which exist in a powdered, free-flowing form to which water is added preferable just prior to the time of use, to yield flowable liquid compositions which are spreadable, dispersible or sprayable onto various substrates. In some embodiments the free-flowing compositions contain water-soluble styrene/acrylic acid copolymers, and can surprisingly comprise relatively large amounts of water on the order of about 20% or more, while remaining in the form of a free-flowing powder prior to their combination with additional water to yield the spreadable, dispersible or sprayable liquid compositions. By the present disclosure, shelf life concerns are eliminated, as the compositions provided have an essentially indefinite shelf life, and transportation and handling ease are greatly increased over prior art compositions due to less weight by the absence of large relative quantities of water present in prior art compositions.
