摘要： Interpenetrated polyolefin network for use in recovering or containing hydrocarbons such as hydrocarbons contained in oil, are disclosed. Advantageously, the interpenetrated polyolefin networks absorb the hydrocarbon, including viscous hydrocarbons and crude oils, to form a gel that can be collected and processed by heat to release the collected hydrocarbons.

摘要： A curable composition comprising a a) styrene-butadiene vinyl resin containing from 30 weight percent to 85 weight percent of 1,2-vinyl groups and wherein styrene is present in an amount in the range of from 10 weight percent to 50 weight percent; b) a vinyl poly(phenylene ether) having a number average molecular weight in the range of from 300 to 10000; c) an aniline modified styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer; d) a multifunctional epoxy resin; and e) a flame retardant wherein, upon curing under curing conditions, the curable composition forms at least one interpenetrating network structure, is disclosed. Methods for preparing the curable composition are also disclosed, as are prepregs and laminates made therefrom.

In another embodiment, a method includes: processing pulse traces corresponding to light pulses from a scintillator material; and outputting a result of the processing, where the scintillator material comprises at least one metal compound incorporated into a polymeric matrix, the at least one metal compound including a metal and one or more carboxylate ligands, where at least one of the one or more carboxylate ligands has a tertiary butyl group, and where the scintillator material is optically transparent and has an energy resolution at 662 keV of less than about 20%.

摘要： To obtain an elastomeric composite crumb having a majority of the particle size distribution greater than 0.33 cm, the crumb is obtained by a process whereby the elastomeric composite comprises less than about 0.5 phr of a salt of a C8 to C20 carboxylic acid, or 10 to 20 phr of a tackifying resin or a combination of both an absence of carboxylic acid and the presence of the tackifying resin. The use of one or both methods permits control of crumb particle size distribution in emulsion or solution processes for producing elastomeric nanocomposites. The elastomeric composite is also disclosed.
