    • The invention relates to the production of cement clinker from cement raw material, wherein preheated raw material is calcined in a calcination zone, then finally burnt to cement clinker in a sintering combustion zone of a kiln supplied with fuel, and the hot cement is cooled in a cooler, and wherein fuel is generated from waste-derived fuels in a gasification reactor to which at least one gas conveying pipe for a reagent is connected and which is connected via at least one fuel gas pipe to at least one combustion zone. In order to increase the reaction rate of the lumpy waste-derived fuels and thus to achieve optimum fuel gas generation in the gasification reactor, a reagent introduction zone is constructed in the gasification reactor in the region above a solids bed made up of the waste-derived fuels, and reagent introduction connections uniformly distributed over the circumference of the reactor open into the reagent introduction zone in such a way that in the region of this introduction zone the reagent can be introduced with a high pulsation to create a pre-selected flow form.

    • A closure assembly is described which includes a plurality of inflatable seals, a sliding door, and a frame configured to allow said door to slide back and forth therein. The sliding door includes a first portion having an opening therethrough and a second solid portion. The door further include a plurality of grooves, one plurality encircling the opening in the first portion and second plurality encircling the second portion. The inflatable seals are configured to fit into at least one of the grooves encircling each portion. The frame has a middle opening which can be aligned with the first portion of the door for allowing objects to pass through. The frame also has a top opening and a bottom opening which allows changing of the inflatable seals without removing the door from the frame. The assembly provides for a sealing of either portion of the door around the middle opening of the frame.

    • Techniques are generally described for producing cement clinker that includes forming cement clinker in a kiln, heating waste additives, and applying the heated waste additives to the cement clinker in the kiln. Additionally, examples are generally described that include an apparatus for producing cement clinker that includes a kiln in which cement clinker is formed and a device having an opening positioned inside the kiln which provides heated waste additives to the kiln for application to the cement clinker. An example device for applying waste additives to cement clinker includes an eductor configured to receive waste additives and transport air in which the waste additives are pneumatically entrained, and includes a lance coupled to the eductor and configured to receive the pneumatically entrained waste additives and receive a support gas that reacts with the waste additives and heats the same for application to the cement clinker.
