摘要： An envelope has an envelope body formed by opposing panels that define an interior and an opening. A closure is joined to and extends up from the top margin of one panel. The envelope is configured such that the interior surface of the closure is sealable to the other panel to permanently close the envelope opening. The closure includes a closure panel and a tear band coextruded with the closure panel. The tear band is composed of a polymeric material having lower tear strength than the material of the closure panel. The tear band defines a zone of weakness extending along the width of the closure for opening the closure by tearing along the zone of weakness after it is permanently closed.

摘要： Resealable systems for consumer packaging, such as food packaging, are described herein. The system includes one or more anchor points and one or more cling coatings. The anchor points can be introduced into or onto the packaging material during manufacture, such as by co-extrusion. Alternatively, the anchor points can be affixed to the packaging material after manufacture, such as with a pressure sensitive adhesive. The cling coatings can be applied to the packaging material during or after manufacture. For example, the cling coatings can be spot coated or pattern coated onto the desired location. The cling coatings are selective, that is they do not attach to themselves but only attach to the anchor point. The cling coatings transfer little or no material over time resulting in more consistent performance over time than pressure sensitive adhesives.

摘要： A print module for printing mailpieces comprises a print head assembly operative to deposit ink on each mailpiece and a registration plate for registering a first surface of each of the mailpieces during print operations. The print module includes a conveyor belt opposing the registration plate and engaging a second surface of each of the mailpieces for conveyance along a feed path. Disposed beneath and supporting an underside surface of the conveyor belt, is a continuous compliant deck operative to urge the conveyor belt and mailpieces toward the registration plate during printing. The compliant deck is also operative to print consecutive mailpieces of variable thickness dimension. The print module also includes a pivotable support rack for mounting the print head assembly to a housing. A pair of gas springs produces a moment about a pivot axis to bias the support rack to an open position and a pair of locking mechanisms produces a biasing moment opposing the moment produced by the gas springs to retain the support rack in a closed position.

摘要： A resealable envelope is composed of a front panel and a rear panel attached to the front panel forming an interior pouch between the front panel and rear panel. A flap extends from the rear panel, the flap having an opening having an elongated width with two circular protrusions emanating from the top and bottom of the elongated width; the opening having a width greater than its height. A first adhesive has an adhesive layer on one side and a releasable surface layer an opposite side. The first adhesive is located at the top portion of the front panel such that the opening is in contact with the first adhesive when the flap is closed. A second adhesive strip is located on the outside of the flap over the opening such that the envelope is sealed when the flap is pressed against the resealable surface layer of the first adhesive.

摘要： A cost effective, pressure-sealed, multi-page paper assembly is configured as a mailer-type of assembly for use as a business form, direct mail piece or other document to distribute information to end-users. The multi-page paper assembly is formed from a single ply or sheet of paper that permits use of such cost-saving technologies as laser printing and imaging of the single ply or sheet. The multi-page paper assembly includes a central transverse line of cross fold perforations and a plurality of lines of fold assist perforations that permit the single ply or sheet to be folded into a desired Z-fold, C-fold, eccentric C-fold, V-fold, double parallel-fold or other folded configuration having a number of inboard panels to serve as pages of the assembly. Deposits of pressure-activated cohesive along one or both surfaces of the single ply or sheet are placed to define those panels to serve as inboard boards and to adhere portions of the ply or sheet when folded. Cohesive deposits can form seals and thereby a secure seal multi-page paper assembly when pressure-sealed to protect contents. Use of low-tack deposits can form unsecured seals for use with direct mail pieces. Removal of stub portions of the paper assembly permits the sealed assembly to be opened in a book-like manner along the sealed cross fold perforations and access provided to the multiple of pages contained therein.
