摘要： A removable spindle axle improvement using a cap attached to a rim formed along an inside surface of a torsion arm, wherein the cap seals a threaded fastener. The rim used for attachment can be a groove, collar, or a collared washer. In an alternative embodiment, a first O-ring is positioned along an end of a spindle axle tapered body and a second O-ring groove is positioned along an opposite end of the spindle axle tapered body to hermetically seal an area of the spindle axle therebetween. In a further embodiment, a first O-ring is positioned along one end of a spindle axle socket and a second O-ring is positioned along a second end of the spindle axle socket to hermetically seal an area of the spindle axle therebetween.

摘要： An off-highway vehicle is provided with a frame, a plurality of wheels, a seat, a drive source and a drivetrain. The frame has a longitudinal center plane dividing the frame into first and second lateral sides. The seat and the drive source are primarily located on opposite lateral sides of the frame. The drive source has an output shaft oriented in a vehicle widthwise direction. The output shaft is arranged forward of a rearmost end of the seat and rearward of a frontmost end of the seat as viewed in a top plan view. The output shaft and an axle of a drive wheel are located on different axes. The drivetrain operatively couples the output shaft to the axle to transmit a drive force from the output shaft to the axle.

The suspension has a suspension device which is located between the axle body and the support structure and acts in a height direction of the vehicle. The vehicle further includes a plurality of coupling sites and a transverse link extending in a transverse direction of the vehicle. The transverse link is coupled to the support structure via a first link area and via a second link area and a pendulum support to the axle body. The transverse link includes a third link area which, with reference to the pendulum support in the transverse direction of the vehicle, is located opposite the first link area and is flexibly connected with a coupling site of the suspension device.

摘要： A quint configuration fire apparatus includes a ladder assembly and a single rear axle coupled to a chassis. The single rear axle includes either a single solid axle configuration extending laterally across the chassis or a first axle having a first constant velocity joint and a second axle having a second constant velocity joint. The ladder assembly is extensible to provide a horizontal reach of at least 90 feet and a vertical height of at least 95 feet and configured to support a tip load of at least 750 pounds. A water tank is configured to contain at least 500 gallons of water. The center of gravity of at least one of the chassis, a body assembly, a pump, and the water tank are positioned to counterbalance a moment generated by the tip load with the ladder assembly extended to the horizontal reach of at least 90 feet.

摘要： A spare stub assembly has a circular flange attached to a spindle that has been inserted within a hole centrally located in the central flange. A set of holes are disposed symmetrically about the large flat surface of the flange. The back end of the spindle is placed within a tubular member that has a corresponding second flange attached at an end thereof. This second flange likewise has a central hole and a set of holes disposed symmetrically about the large flat surface of the second flange. The back end of the spindle is inserted within the hole in the second flange associated with the tubular member and onwards therein; this is followed by the bolts and locking nuts application between the two sets of flanged holes thereby locking the two flanges together and permitting easy replacement of a worn spindle. Another spare stub assembly attached similarly to a third flange that is itself attached to the other end of the tubular member opposite the first flange is an option.

摘要： The handling properties of two-wheeled trolleys may be materially improved by arranging for the freely rotatable wheels (1, 2) to be able to move to a certain extent relative to the frame or load-receiving container portions (3, 4, 5) of the trolley in a direction parallel to the direction of travel of the trolley. This can be achieved by mounting the trolley wheels (1, 2) so that they, and the axles (32) on which they are mounted for free rotation, can, preferably independently, swivel about a horizontal axis displaced from (and lower than) the level at which the wheels are mounted on their respective axles. The wheels are preferably set at a high positive camber angle. Letting the wheels swivel materially improves handling on rough terrain. The trolley is preferably foldable to save space when being transported or stored.
