    • A container packer system includes a transfer base, which receives a container packer adapted for movement longitudinally between retracted and extended positions with respect to the transfer base. The transfer base includes a power subsystem with a motor or engine driving an hydraulic pump for powering hydraulic piston-and-cylinder units of the system, including a container packer piston-and-cylinder unit for hydraulically extending and retracting the container packer. The container packer generally encloses an interior adapted for receiving bulk material for transfer to a transport container, which can comprise a standard shipping container, a trailer or some other bulk material receptacle. The container packer includes a push blade assembly longitudinally movably mounted in its interior and actuated by a push blade piston-and-cylinder unit.

    • A hydraulically operated compaction device is mounted on a mobile support frame and is dragged by a mine utility vehicle through an underground mine for the collection of waste material generated from the mining operations. The waste material is deposited into a compaction chamber and compacted in a receiver of the compaction device. Hydraulic power is supplied from a hydraulic power takeoff on the utility vehicle to actuate the compaction device to compact the waste material in the receiver. When the receiver is filled with compacted waste material, the mine utility vehicle moves the compaction device to a location in the mine where the compaction device is transported out of the mine for pick-up by a commercial waste hauler. By collecting and compacting waste material in the mine, the frequency of hauls of waste material from the mine and the associated costs are substantially reduced.

    • A manually-actuated waste compressing system includes a waste receptacle; a waste bag; a lid removably mated to the waste receptacle and a compression implement. The manually-actuated compression implement includes an elongated dowel and a disc, and is centrally aligned within an inner perimeter of the waste receptacle and linearly reciprocated along a linear travel path of the waste receptacle to compress garbage contained within the receptacle. A light source is electrically communicated by a pair of contacts and alerts a user when an undesirable compression of the garbage is reached. The apparatus provides the benefit of compacting garbage without having to make direct contact therewith thus allowing more garbage to be stored within the waste receptacle before disposal. The light source additionally ensures that the apparatus may not be unduly damage by excessive pressure when compacting garbage.

    • A trash receptacle compaction system for compacting trash, a trash receptacle of the system having upstanding front, side and back panels, a closed bottom, and a lid. The system further includes a drivable satellite vehicle having a power unit which is operably connectable between the front panel and a compaction ram of the trash receptacle. The separate compaction ram is positioned within the receptacle for slidable movement between the forwardly front panel and the rearwardly rear panel, the compaction ram being driven by the power unit to compact the trash within the receptacle after the satellite vehicle is driven to and properly aligned with the trash receptacle. These trash compaction cycles minimize the frequency of trash receptacle emptying required.
