    • A press with at least one collector wagon for compressible material to be pressed that can be coupled and uncoupled and that comprises a collector chamber having floors and walls, as well as a press chamber. When the collector wagon is coupled to the press, the collected compressible material is mechanically transferred from the collector wagon into the press chamber, after movement of the floor and use of a feeder device. When uncoupled from the press, the collector wagon is filled with compressible material at a location at a distance from the press. The feeder device is designed such that the compressible material to be pressed present in the collector wagon, after the upward movement of at least the floor, is gradually gripped and continuously removed from the collector wagon from above, and fed to the press.

    • An apparatus for removing foreign matters from construction waste. A feeding section is installed at a lower end of a hopper. A heating and compressing section has an entrance which is coupled to the feeding section and an exit which is defined at a lower end of the heating and compressing section. A shooter opening and closing section is coupled to the exit of the heating and compressing section. The heating and compressing section comprises a hollow casing having a vertical flange on a side thereof, a compression cylinder installed on the casing, a compression plunger fitted into the casing and coupled to a piston rod of the compression cylinder, and a band heater wound on a circumferential outer surface of and adjacent to a lower end of the casing.

    • A method of injecting steam into a landfill is provided. The steam enhances methane gas production in the landfill during the anaerobic phase, accelerates decomposition/biodegradation of the organic component of the trash prism during both the aerobic and anaerobic phases, and increases the rate of settlement of the landfill. A method of introducing a gaseous anaerobic fertilizer into the landfill is also provided. The fertilizer accelerates the decomposition/biodegradation of the organic component of the trash prism. A method of reducing the volume of a plastic component of the trash prism is provided, wherein the temperature and pressure of injected steam are raised to a level sufficient to melt plastic. Methods and apparatus for reducing the volume of a quantity of refuse prior to placing the refuse in a landfill are provided. The refuse is heated with steam and also compacted. The heat melts plastic in the refuse, and the compaction increases the quantity of refuse that can be placed into a given landfill.

    • A transportable apparatus includes a housing with a door which opens to facilitate placement of trash within a trash receiving chamber of the apparatus. A sweep within the trash receiving chamber is actuated upon closing the door, forcing the deposited trash into a first compaction chamber, wherein the trash is mixed and compressed into a condensed mass by converging chamber walls and a downwardly directed spray of water released from high pressure nozzles at the top of the chamber. A reciprocating horizontal plate at the lower end of the first compaction chamber slices off a bottom layer of the mass of trash with each cycle of forward and rearward movement. The sliced layers of trash are pushed and compacted into a second compaction chamber until the second chamber is full. The trash is then compressed to form a composite unit of predetermined size and configuration. Electric discharge elements within the second chamber subject the compressed trash to an electrical charge, thereby removing moisture and causing the formed composite unit to become hardened. The composite unit is subsequently released from the second chamber and discharged from the housing.
