摘要： Assembling blow molded parts to form cantilevered structures incorporating a joint among three blow molded parts. A joint incorporates connector components from each part. One part comprises a cantilever, and has a tab with a through hole disposed substantially at the fixed end. The other two parts are assembled using a barbed post-and-hole joint, such that the post is inserted through the hole in the tab. The tab acts in tension at an angle to oppose the moment and shear generated by the weight of the cantilever. Other aspects of the invention include an additional dovetail joint connecting the cantilever part and the other part or parts, The dovetail joint may be blind, and may contribute to supporting the weight of, as well as opposing the moment and shear.

摘要： An improved method of forming a structure out of a polymer such as TPR includes forming a body that is molded to include at least a portion of a connector, interconnecting the portion of the connector with a cooperative other portion of the connector, and overmolding the connected portions of the connector with a polymeric material to retain the connector in its connected configuration. This enables, for example, a link of a chain to be formed from an elongated body having at its ends cooperable connector portions that are connectable together to form a ring-like structure which is substantially continuous about its longitudinal extent. The connector is then overmolded with a polymeric material, which may be the same material from which the elongated body is formed or another material, in order to retain the portions of the connector in the connected configuration.

A seamed dog chew toy has essentially similar construction such that the increased retention force provided by the intimate attachment of the foam to the shell resists the chewing force of the dog popping a seam improving durability.

摘要： The present invention, in one exemplary embodiment, relates a method of manufacturing an animal chew by molding two body portions of a first material each having at least one concave surface and one or more through holes, attaching the two portions together such that the concave surfaces face one another to form a hollow body portion, injecting a second material into the hollow body portion to fill at least a portion of the hollow body and form areas of exposed regions of the second material by filling the one or more through holes. In a second exemplary embodiment, the two portions may have the concave surfaces over-molded with a second material which fills the one or more through holes. In a third exemplary embodiment, a separate shape of a second material may be molded in a configuration having dimensions complementary to the two half portion and holes when the portions are combined.

摘要： A magnet is embedded in a flexible elastic material, providing a means of temporarily connecting the flexible elastic material to ferromagnetic objects. A rigid cup provides a container for anchoring the magnet in the flexible elastic material. The cup also provides a structure to bind with the flexible elastic material. The magnet rests in the base of the cup, which extends past the surface of the material, allowing the magnet's forces to extend outside the base of the cup. The remainder of the cup resides within the material.
