摘要： This invention is directed to a microstructured filament that can be used to make fibers having an extruded filament having pre-cooled microfeatures in a radial spiral arrangement about a bore though the filament wherein the microfeature has a width in the range of 25 μm to 40 μm and height in the range of 90 μm to 100 μm; and, the filament having a post-cooled state having post-cooled microfeatures having physical dimensions smaller than that of the pre-cooled microfeatures. The filament can include microfeatures having a width in the range of 400 nm to 4 μm and height in the range of 400 nm to 4 μm. The filament and fiber can include physical characteristics selected from the group consisting of: hydrophobicity, self-cleaning, increased hydro-dynamic drag coefficients, decreased or increased aerodynamic drag coefficients, increased friction, reduced friction, optical effects, increased adhesion, decreased adhesion, oleophobicity, tactile effects, anti-blocking and any combination of these.

The corner shingle may be a semi-crystalline thermoplastic and having a wood grain direction. Streaks may be formed in the corner shingle that are substantially parallel to the wood grain direction. The streaks may extend through an interior of the corner shingle and appear as contrasting streaks on an exterior of the corner shingle to form a variegated wood grain appearance. In addition, an injection molded vestige may be formed in the corner shingle. 摘要： Disclosed herein are methods of making an eyeglass frame comprising a frame front and/or a pair of temples, wherein each of the frame front and temples independently comprises a top layer and a patterned layer having the shape of a frame front and/or a pair of temples, and wherein the patterned layer comprises a laminate and a design pattern on a surface of the laminate, the method comprising the steps of: a) providing a mold having a cavity, wherein the shape of the cavity corresponds to the shape of the frame front and/or the temples; b) setting the patterned layer for the frame front and/or the temples in the mold; and c) injecting a melt of a first polymer composition into the cavity to form the top layer. In some embodiments, at least one of the frame front and temples further comprises a bottom layer.

摘要： An vacuum bag for forming of a fiber reinforced composite article, made of a curable elastomer, having molded in resin distribution means. Optional vacuum conduits are molded into the periphery of the bag, causing the bag to be adapted to any number of mold shapes. The bag contains a resin distribution conduit sealed into the vacuum bag. A multiplicity of cross channels are formed on the inner surface of the bag, covering most of the area under which the fiber lay up is placed within the mold. These cross channels can be formed from a pattern of multiple, variegated small dots or pentagons, which, under vacuum, leave a multiplicity of small crisscross channels running along the inner surface of the vacuum bag. This pattern of distribution channels covers most of the fiber lay up, except for a perimeter area which insures resin flow into rather than across the fiber lay up.

摘要： A method of manufacturing finished articles of flexible plastic material includes formation of a sheet of plastic material with a first portion having a raised pattern on one surface thereof and at least partially curing the sheet. The first portion having the raised pattern is removed from the sheet and a second portion of plastic material having a raised pattern on one surface and of a color contrasting with that of the first portion is formed in that area of the sheet from which the first portion was removed. A plastic backing layer is formed on the sheet and the article thus formed is cured. The backing layer may be of a color contrasting with that of the second portion of plastic material, or the first portion may be allowed to remain and its back surface may be coated with a layer of plastic of a color contrasting with that of the first portion after which the backing layer is applied.
