    • A reinforcing steel bar cutter includes a base, a pair of bearing plates erected on the base, a handle shaft pivotally attached to one of the pair of bearing plates, a stationary blade and a movable blade provided with depressed parts and interposed between the pair of bearing plates, and a posture-retaining wall formed on at least one of the pair of bearing plates for preventing the reinforcing steel bar inserted into the depressed parts from warping while the reinforcing steel bar is being cut. The stationary and movable blades have opposed cutting blade parts to each of which a relief angle is imparted. The movable blade is connected to the handle shaft and rotated relative to the stationary blade by rocking motion of the handle shaft to cut the reinforcing bar.

    • An apparatus for cutting aluminum siding or like articles includes a movable blade and a pair of fixed blades between which the movable blade is mounted to pivot. The fixed blades are each mounted on a rail that is rigidly connected to a flexible base member. An adjustment bolt is provided for exerting force between the rails. Force from the adjustment bolt causes the base member to deflect, thereby permitting the distance between the fixed blades to be varied. A second feature includes the provision of different sets of fixed blades, each configured to conform to a different type of siding. A novel movable blade is also provided.

    • Apparatus for cutting a conduit or tubular element transversely to the longitudinal axis thereof which includes a base having a housing projecting vertically therefrom. The housing includes opposed, substantially parallel side plates separated by a vertical slot at their upper ends, and by a mechanism chamber at their lower ends. A blade element is pivotally supported between the parallel side plates, and carries a plurality of ratchet teeth along the lower peripheral edge, and a cutting edge disposed at the opposite side of the blade element from the ratchet teeth. Between the teeth and cutting edge, the knife element has an elongated, arcuate slot formed therethrough. An operating handle is pivotally connected to the housing at a side thereof spaced from the pivotal axis of the blade element. A pawl lever is pivotally connected to the operating handle and has a dog thereon positioned to ride over and operatively engage the ratchet teeth as the operating handle is pivoted. An elongated indexing link is pivotally connected at one end to the pawl lever and carries a stud at its other end which rides in the arcuate slot in the blade element. A conduit supporting jaw is mounted at the upper side of the housing, and defines an arcuate recess dimensioned to support a conduit to be cut by the apparatus.
