    • Heretofore, dimples or recesses that were distributed over the periphery of a cylindrical wall of a counterbore in a component had to be formed or inserted one after the other, which required complicated positioning work. According to the invention, in order to simultaneously form all of the dimples with a simple positioning device, a deflection body is provided through which at least two milling spindles pass in a planet-like disposition relative to a central control rod. The deflection body is connected to a centering piece facing the counterbore and to an intermediate piece facing away from the counterbore. The intermediate piece in turn forms a type of cylinder/piston connection with a gear housing. Each milling spindle is connected to an output shaft of a gear housing by a flexible shaft that is axially movably guided in between. A relative movement takes place between the housing and the intermediate piece in the course of a predeterminable stroke after the centering piece contacts the base surface of the counterbore. The control rod also performs the relative movement by simultaneously moving the milling spindles radially outwardly in the vicinity of the deflection body.

    • A tool having a deployable cutting blade for making an undercut in a substrate is disclosed. The tool has a chamber positioned between its cutting tip and its tang. The cutting blade is movably mounted within the chamber. The blade is movable by sliding, pivoting or deflecting on a cantilever mounting and is movable between a retracted position within the chamber and an extended position projecting outwardly to engage and cut the substrate. Actuators for moving the blade include an eccentric cam mounted on a camshaft, a push rod and an inflatable balloon. Blades are also resiliently mounted and oriented so that their engagement with the substrate will cause them to retract into the chamber when the tool rotates in one direction and deploy into the extended position when the tool rotates in the opposite direction.

    • An apparatus for creating annular cavities in the bottom of drilled holes in any medium having a body, an axle within the body at one end and rotated by a conventional drill, a reamer secured to the axle at its other end, an inner part enveloping the axle and an outer part enveloping the inner part, both parts being eccentric and rotatable with respect to each other. Their respective eccentricities are such that when opposing each other in opposite directions, the axle is parallel to the outer part. Joint rotation of the parts causes the reamer to move in a planetary manner. The outer part may be held stationary or dragged along by the inner part for joint rotation. Channels are provided within the parts to the reamer to supply cooling water to the reamer and to remove waste material generated by the reamer.
