摘要： A manifold for a liquid material dispenser has a unitary manifold body with process air and liquid material passages formed therethrough. Heaters for heating the process air and liquid material are both coupled directly to the manifold body and cooperate to simultaneously heat both the air and liquid material. The air and liquid material heaters may be arranged in either a generally vertical orientation, or a horizontal orientation with respect to the manifold body. In one embodiment, the process air heater includes a cylindrical member which is substantially exposed to the process air to optimize heat transfer from the cylindrical member to the process air.

摘要： A metal spray apparatus is provided with a supersonic nozzle. Molten metal is injected into a gas stream flowing through the nozzle under pressure. By varying the pressure of the injected metal, the droplet can be made in various selected sizes with each selected size having a high degree of size uniformity. A unique one piece graphite heater provides easily controlled uniformity of temperature in the nozzle and an attached tundish which holds the pressurized molten metal. A unique U-shaped gas heater provides extremely hot inlet gas temperatures to the nozzle. A particularly useful application of the spray apparatus is coating of threads of a fastener with a shape memory alloy. This permits a fastener to be easily inserted and removed but provides for a secure locking of the fastener in high temperature environments.

摘要： A coating method and apparatus for coating the inner surface of a long tube of small diameter, specifically tubes for a condenser. The coating is a type of spray coating wherein a long flexible supply hose, longer than the long tube to be coated, is reciprocated in the long tube with a spray nozzle attached to the tip thereof for spraying the paint by the action of compressed air, from one end of the long tube to the other end thereof while spraying the paint in atomization. The long flexible supply hose of double structure or sometimes of triple structure is composed of a short heating pipe portion adjacent to the spray nozzle and a long flexible hose portion. The paint and compressed air supplied through separate passages in the supply hose are heated to a predetermined temperature by heating means, for example, a sheathed electrical heater wound about an inside pipe of the heating pipe portion upstream of where the paint is sprayed.

摘要： A portable system is provide for spraying viscous materials to form a truck bed liner. Tanks of coating materials that include an activator and resin are contained in a heated, portable cart which also houses a motor driving two pumps to pump the coating materials through air lines to a spray gun at a rate that can be varied by an operator. A high volume, low pressure air compressor is also mounted on the cart and in fluid communication with the air gun. The coating materials are forced through a mixing tube and out of a nozzle tip where it is atomized by the high volume air for spraying to coat the truck bed liner. A pressurized flush tank is activated immediately after spraying in order to clear the coating materials from the spray gun. A modified, dual component caulking gun containing a preselected, second colored resin and activator can be attached to the nozzle tip for decorative coloring or texturing.
