    • A feed pipe mixing system for delivering a homogenous massecuite product to a centrifuge comprising: a vertical feed pipe defining an upper end, and a lower end, the vertical feed pipe comprising: a mixing chamber disposed between the upper and lower ends of the vertical feed pipe and operable to mix a massecuite feed with feed water, surfactants, partially diluted molasses or a combination thereof to produce a massecuite product; a massecuite inlet disposed on the side of the vertical feed pipe above the mixing chamber, wherein the massecuite inlet is configured to deliver a massecuite feed into the vertical feed pipe; a massecuite outlet disposed on the lower end of the vertical feed pipe and configured to discharge the homogenous massecuite product from the feed pipe to a centrifuge; and a feed water pipe configured to deliver feed water, surfactants, partially diluted molasses or a combination thereof to the mixing chamber for mixing with the massecuite feed.

    • A mixer is comprised of a substantially circular container tub and includes an auger flighting member extending upwardly within the mixer for engagement with bales of material to cut and shred the bales. The auger flighting member includes a plurality of knife blades mounted on the outer radial edges of the auger flighting member. The upper end portion of the auger flighting member includes a mounted knife blade, with the upper end portion of the member being bent out of the plane of the auger flighting at an angle of between 15 and 25 degrees. The auger flighting member includes a lower flighting portion having an extension member comprised of a leading edge member cooperating with the floor of the tub with the extension member having a radial width at least equal to the radial width of the remainder of the lower flighting portion. A kicker plate is mounted adjacent the leading edge portion of the extension member to direct the cut material into the auger flighting member to facilitate feeding and mixing.

    • For mixing and conveying of highly viscous fluids, the invention provides a single-stage or multi-stage axial centrifugal pump to which the components to be mixed are fed through lateral connections (10, 12) in front of the first rotor (FIG. 1). The blades (4, 4') of the or of each rotor (FIG. 2) have at least one hole (5). The lateral connections (10, 12) have at least one mixing nozzle (12) with several holes (13). The pump housing consists of two parts. Fixed guide blades (2, 2') are provided in the lower part (1), out of which the upper part (5) together with rotor shaft (3), its bearings (7, 8) and the rotors can be lifted. A relief and control opening (15) is provided above a gasket (14) which separates the upper part (5) from the inside of the pump.
