    • A drum separator for separating brine shrimp eggs from a slurry containing an agglomeration of adult brine shrimp, brine shrimp eggs and debris includes a fluid source to maintain a slurry. The fluid source may be an internal spray jet disposed to spray against the slurry inside the drum for breaking up the agglomeration of adult brine shrimp, brine shrimp eggs and debris so that the brine shrimp eggs may pass through openings formed in the drum. An external spray jet is disposed to spray against the exterior surface of the drum for cleaning the adult brine shrimp and debris out of the openings in the drum. The internal spray jet is preferably an elongated pipe having a plurality of openings and is disposed inside the rotating drum. The external spray jet is preferably an elongated pipe with a plurality of openings and is disposed along the exterior of the rotating drum.

    • A floatable container apparatus for harvesting brine shrimp eggs is disclosed in one presently preferred embodiment of the present invention as including a buoyant container assembly having one or more ballast tanks to provide a means for raising and lowering the container in relation to the surface of the water. In addition, the container assembly comprises a collection reservoir having an internal periphery sufficient for collecting a mixture of water, brine shrimp eggs, and other debris. In operation, the container assembly may be partially submerged by introducing water into at least one ballast tank. Accordingly, a openable panel may be disposed in an open position to allow for the introduction of the floating mixture into the collection reservoir. Similarly, after a sufficient quantity of the mixture has been collected, the front panel of the container assembly may be disposed in a closed position which restricts additional fluid passage. The water within the ballast tank may then be removed and interchangeably ventilated with air, thereby increasing the buoyancy of the container. Disposed in fluid communication with an opening formed in the container assembly, an extraction assembly provides a means for extracting excess water and a meaningful portion of the unwanted debris from the mixture in the reservoir and transporting the excess water and unwanted debris back into the body of water from where it was collected. The remaining mixture of water and brine shrimp eggs housed within the container assembly may be then delivered to at least one porous container.

    • There is described a method and apparatus for holding and cultivating aquatic crustaceans and like shellfish. The apparatus comprises a well for holding water, a plurality of buoyant trays each sub-divided into a plurality of compartments sized to house a crustacean and having a perforated bottom, the trays being adapted for submersion within the well to form a column of trays whereby the weight of one tray maintains the trays beneath it in a submerged condition. The apparatus further includes an airlift to simultaneously lift water from the vicinity of the bottom of the well for recirculation to the top of the well and to aerate the water as it is being lifted. There is further included an outlet to introduce a supply of fresh extraneous water to the top of the well and to drain water from the bottom of the well in amounts corresponding substantially to that added to the top of the well.

    • A tank filled with water and appropriate to receive such aquatic organisms, comprises a support bottom (1) under the water surface, presenting on the fresh water side in circulation, shelter holes shaped as pipes (3), wherein the aquatic organisms lives according to their natural way of life. Such shelters (3), adapted to the way of life of eels, have their upper opening (5) orientated in the fresh water stream (13) and extend inclined downwardly. To the contrary, for the breving of crustacea, those aquatic shelters extend horizontally from the fresh water compartment. A water stream (15) passes through such aquatic shelters between the fresh water compartment and the residual water compartment (25); said water stream entrains from the pipes (3) towards the residual water compartment excrements, food remains and other waste. The device may be provided with a heating elements allowing to use for the heating, by means of special bottom arrangements, slightly dirty waste waters as well as very dirty waste waters.
