摘要： A harvester having a harvesting structure, an accumulator, and a module builder having a throat. A plurality of meter rollers are positioned to receive crop and transfer crop at a feed rate in cooperation with a beater roller. A feeder belt receives crop from the meter rollers and the beater roller and transfers the crop to the throat. A feed rate control system comprises at least one crop mass flow feedback device providing a crop mass flow feedback signal indicative of crop mass flow. A controller is provided that is in communication with the at least one crop mass flow feedback device and configured to operate in a first mode by lowering the feed rate when the crop mass flow feedback signal indicates a threshold has been reached and by raising the feed rate when the crop mass flow feedback signal indicates the threshold has not been reached.

An infinitely variable transmission may be configured to sum mechanical power from an infinitely variable power source and the engine and to output the summed power at a variable output shaft. A clutch arrangement may be configured, in a first state, to disconnect a harvesting unit of the cotton harvester from the power take-off shaft and route power from the variable output shaft to the harvesting unit. The clutch arrangement may be further configured, in a second state, to disconnect the harvesting unit from the variable output shaft and route power from the engine to the harvesting unit via the power take-off shaft.

摘要： An electronic controller with a sensed ground speed input calculates appropriate cotton harvester row unit speed based on harvester ground speed and a preset ground speed versus a unit speed curve. The controller includes an automatic or manual ratio adjustment input. The ratio adjustment input allows the unit speed to be increased or decreased from the preset speed. The controller reads row unit speed via unit speed sensors and sends a signal to the unit speed actuator or electronic drive control (EDC) on a hydro, variable sheave, or other variable drive device to adjust unit speed to the calculated value. A detector or field vision device such as a camera responsive to cotton on the plants provides a signal to the automatic ratio adjustment input to change the ratio for increased productivity and reduced machine wear.

摘要： Sensing structure including a microwave sensor monitors the velocity, mass flow and moisture of cotton in a harvester air duct. As the flow of cotton in the air duct nears maximum capacity, the cotton velocity will decrease and the sensor provides a signal to the controller so that harvester speed will be reduced. Cotton mass and moisture level signals are used to determine the percentage capacity and anticipate loading of the cotton cleaner or other crop processor. The signals can also be used to control cross auger and impeller speed to even out the flow of cotton within the air duct system in highly variable yield conditions in the field.

摘要： A guidance system for a farming vehicle includes an electronic video camera attached to the underside of the farming vehicle and a video monitor electrically coupled to the camera for assisting an operator in steering the farming vehicle. The camera is mounted behind a front guide wheel of the farming vehicle for viewing the path traversed by the front guide wheel. The video monitor is mounted near the steering wheel by which the operator controls the front guide wheel in order to steer the farming vehicle. A safety guard/light housing is provided which prevents the camera from impacting the ground or obstructions which lie in the path of the front guide wheel. Lighting devices are incorporated within the safety guard/light housing for illuminating the area viewed by the camera. Side shields are also provided to form a viewing tunnel defining the area viewed by the camera.

摘要： A machine is controlled to operate according to a first control configuration. Enhancement criteria values, that are indicative of an enhancement metric, are evaluated based on operation in the first control configuration. The machine is then controlled to operate according to a second control configuration, and the enhancement criteria are again evaluated. The machine is iteratively switched between operating in the first and second control configurations until a signal-to-background-variation-ratio with respect to the evaluated enhancement criteria is sufficient. One of the first and second control configurations are then identified as corresponding to a best enhancement criteria value.
