    • An approach for systematically and objectively assessing the health of a web site, or other complex system, using two layers of information. A scoring method is used to provide an objective qualitative judgment, together with detailed areas of analysis if desired. A set of metrics is identified, and a health score for each metric is calculated based upon assessment parameters or angles, based upon the actual data and upon the expectations. The overall health score of the system is then calculated as a composite metric based upon the individual metric health scores. A total score, together with a visual representation of the individual metric scores, is presented to the end user. The two layers of information utilized in the general framework include the domain (which determines the set of metrics and assessment parameters, e.g., web site analysis) and the model (or processing desired, e.g., a scoring model or alert model).

Content responsive to search, whose presentation is prevented by content limitations is presented in an obscured manner, notifying the user of the existence of the content, while not enabling discerning of details, thereby honoring the content limitations. Attempted user interaction with obscured content acts as an entry point to changing the content limitations, including presenting user notifications of the content limitations and presenting an option to change the content limitations to allow for the unobscured presentation of the obscured content. Graphical content can be obscured by applying graphical modifications to generate new, obscured content that provides only a vague resemblance to the original, including jittering pixels, or other subcomponents, the applying of Gaussian blurs, and pixelization.

    • An apparatus and method for providing high speed computing power with efficient power consumption in a computing environment comprising a comparator with at least one input feed; a sign selector in electronic communication with the comparator; and result flag generator in electronic communication with both the sign selector and the comparator. The sign selector has input data feeds and an equivalent number of dedicated indicators for identifying signed numbers from unsigned numbers for each of the input data feeds. The result flag generator receives a first resultant feed from the comparator and a second resultant feed from the sign selector. The sign selector can be designed to provide a resultant output. The resultant output is generated after collective operations have been performed on the input feeds and selectively on other feeds such as a sign feed and an Ini feed.
