    • An automatic focusing camera is equipped with an automatic subject distance detecting device for detecting which of a plurality of predetermined distances is nearest to that at which the subject lies. A lens positioning member adjusts an objective lens to a suitable focusing position in which the objective lens has a depth of field straddling that nearest predetermined distance detected by the automatic subject distance detecting device. Another lens positioning member adjusts the objective lens to a focusing position in which the objective lens will be focused on a subject, such as a landscape, at infinity, independently of the distances detected by the automatic subject distance detecting device. The latter objective lens positioning member is externally operable when it is intended to photograph a subject at infinity, before depressing the shutter button.

    • A method for rapidly processing a silver halide color photographic material is disclosed, comprising a support having at least one red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a cyan coupler, at least one green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a magenta coupler and at least one blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a yellow coupler, wherein the photographic material contains a yellow colored cyan coupler, the total processing time for the photographic material is 8 minutes or less, and the processing solution having a bleaching ability for the photographic material contains an oxidizing agent having a redox potential of 150 mV or more. The rapid processing method yields excellent color reproducibility and the photographic material processed by the method has excellent resistance to fading.

    • A method for processing silver halide photosensitive materials comprising developing an exposed silver halide photosensitive material, fixing the developed photosensitive material and then washing it with a washing water, the washing water used in the water washing process being replenished in an amount of 2 to 50 times the volume of liquid carried over by the photosensitive material from a bath preceding the water washing bath per unit area thereof, the amount of calcium and magnesium compounds present in the water washing bath being reduced to not more than 5 mg/l, respectively, on the basis of elemental calcium and magnesium and the washing water containing at least one chelating agent having a stability constant of a chelate, which is formed between the chelating agent and calcium or magnesium, of at least 6 is herein disclosed. The method makes it possible to suppress the increase in turbidity due to the proliferation of bacteria and molds in washing bath even when the processing is continuously conducted while substantially saving the amount of washing water and further provides an excellent processed photosensitive materials.
