    • Two first engagement members are formed on a first side of a transmission plate of a dual backset deadbolt assembly, while two second engagement members are formed on an opposite second side of the transmission plate posterior to the first engagement members. A first cam drive unit is retained rotatably in a first backset position relative to the transmission plate and is disposed adjacent to the first side. A second cam drive unit is movable between first and second backset positions relative to the transmission plate and is disposed adjacent to the second side. A deadbolt operating spindle of a lock extends through the first and second cam drive units so as to permit engagement of the first cam drive unit with one of the first engagement members in order to actuate the transmission plate when the second cam drive unit is in the first backset position and the deadbolt assembly is adjusted to a shorter backset length. The deadbolt operating spindle extends through the second cam drive unit so as to permit engagement of the second cam drive unit with one of the second engagement members in order to actuate the transmission plate when the second cam drive unit is in the second backset position and the deadbolt assembly is adjusted to a longer backset length.

    • An improved duplex latch-bolt mechanism is composed of a latch-bolt head assembly and a latch-bolt transfer device adapted to make a selectable connection with a standard latch-handle assembly having a square transfer member and a pair of cylindrical support nuts provided for use in a door fitting arrangement. The latch-bolt transfer device includes: a bolt extracting member with a central open section connected to the latch-bolt head assembly; an upper coupling member and a lower coupling member, connected around the extracting member, each formed with a plurality of selectable openings; a displacement member with a cam through opening ajustably joined with the upper and lower coupling members for being operated to define two selectable positions along with the upper and lower coupling members according to the door fitting arrangement; a cam setting device movably disposed in the open section of the bolt extracting member for being connected to the square transfer member during the performance of locking and unlocking operations; and a transfer locking member disposed on the displacement member for keeping the cam setting device in position.

    • A door lock includes a deadbolt assembly and a lock housing assembly. The deadbolt assembly has a bolt member which includes a metal inner sleeve, a metal outer sleeve fitted over the inner sleeve and made of a material which is different from that of the metal inner sleeve and which has anti-corrosion properties, and a security bar disposed axially in the inner sleeve. The lock housing assembly includes an exterior housing section with a cylindrical chamber that receives rotatably an exterior lock cylinder unit therein. The lock cylinder unit has a key-operated rotary plug with a rearwardly projecting spindle that is connected operably to the deadbolt assembly. An interior sleeve member is formed as a cylindrical wall with a front end which is secured to the rear side of the lock cylinder unit and a rear end which is formed with diametrically opposite notches. The deadbolt assembly extends through the sleeve member via the notches. A pair of bolts pass through bolt holes of an interior housing section, the mounting holes of the side plates, the front end of the sleeve member, and engage threadedly the threaded holes of the lock cylinder unit.

    • An inner handle assembly of a door lock includes a handle with an axle. A mounting cap has an axial hole for passage of the axle and a through-hole offset from the axial hole. A spindle driving plate has a central hole engaging fittingly a spindle of the door lock. A manually operable lock unit has a button member extending outwardly through the through-hole and mounted for movement in an axial direction between locking and unlocking positions, and an engagement member in connection with the button member. The engagement member engages the spindle driving plate for locking against rotation of the spindle driving plate when the lock unit is at the locking position. A rotary member is mounted on the axle within the mounting cap for rotating simultaneously the axle. The rotary member moves axially and outwardly the engagement member to disengage from the spindle driving plate when the axle is turned to rotate the rotary member. The axle retards rotation of the spindle driving plate so that the spindle driving plate starts to rotate after the lock unit is moved to the unlocking position.
