    • A time indication setting circuit for accelerating or stopping the advance of the time indicating mechanism in an electronic timepiece. A delay circuit receives time pulses developed within the timepiece and the time pulses and delayed time pulses from the delay circuit are applied to a gate circuit. The gate circuit applies the time pulses and the delayed time pulses, under the control of a control circuit, to the timepiece drive train to drive the timepiece time indicating mechanism at a rate determined by the pulse repetition rate of the pulses applied to the drive train. The control circuit is manually operable to apply the control signal so the gate circuit applies both the time and the delayed time pulses to the drive train and thereby accelerates the advance of the time indicating mechanism, or to block both the time and the time indicating pulses and thereby stop the advance of the time indicating mechanism or to apply only the time pulses to the drive train so that the time indicating mechanism advances at a normal rate.

    • A time adjusting system for an electronic timepiece has a discriminating circuit for discriminating between an advanced signal appearing during the first 30 seconds of a minute and a delayed signal appearing during the latter 30 seconds of the minute. In the advanced state, the supply of 1 HZ pulses to the time-measuring device is temporarily stopped for a time equivalent to the duration of the advanced time thereby delaying the time. In the delayed state, time adjusting pulses higher in frequency than the 1 HZ pulses are supplied to the time-measuring device in a number equal to the duration of the delayed time thereby advancing the time.

    • An electronic clinical thermometer has a first oscillator producing a first temperature oscillating output signal, a second oscillator producing a second temperature oscillating output signal whose frequency is dependent on a measured temperature body temperature, a first counter and a second counter and operative to provide a gate signal after a predetermined number count. A first memory temporarily stores the count content of the first counter in response to the gate signal, and a second memory stores the count content of the first memory. A digital magnitude comparator compares the count content of the first and second memories and produces a corresponding comparison signal indicative of whether the count content of the first memory is greater or not greater than the count content of the second memory. A flip-flop circuit responds to the comparison signal to produce a control signal for controlling a switching circuit in dependence on the comparison signal so as to selectively switch either the count content of the first memory or the count content of the second memory, whichever is greater, to a decoder ROM which decodes the count content and applies decoded digital signals to a driving circuit for driving a display. The display always shows the maximum value of the measured bodily temperature and thus provides error-free temperature measurements.
