摘要： A method for modifiying a liquid assay reagent to provide prolonged homogeneity thereof, particularly where the liquid assay reagent comprises microparticles for performing a heterogeneous immunoassay, is provided wherein the addition of an inert material to a liquid assay reagent achieves neutral density to thereby prolong the homogeneity thereof for extended periods of time. A method for the automated agitation of assay reagents to maintain the homogeneity thereof with an automated, continuous and random access analytical instrument is also provided. The automated mixing is accomplished by a back and forth motion of a carousel onto which assay reagent containers or packs are mounted with asymmetric pauses which can be completed within a short period of time. The carousel acceleration, velocity, distance moved, and pause-asymmetry are optimized to provide rapid assay reagent resuspension without foaming or bubble formation. Accordingly, periodic removal of assay reagent packs by an operator in order to mix the reagents is not necessary.

摘要： A plastic assay cuvette having the desired optical properties for the analysis of a test sample or reaction mixture thereof, and a method for making such plastic assay cuvette, are described. The optical properties of the plastic assay cuvette are substantially the same as the optical properties of glass wherein low birefringence throughout the optical read region thereof is provided. When used for the analysis of a test sample or reaction mixture thereof, such as in fluorescence polarization assays and absorbance assays, the plastic assay cuvette provides accurate and reproducible results while, at the same time, provides a low-cost disposable assay cuvette which can be used in place of conventional glass assay cuvettes.

When a strike of laser light is detected, power is provided to the motor, which vibrates and causes the apparatus to move.

The grip has a compressible touch pad that is positioned such that a user's fingers are adjacent to, or on, the compressible touch pad when the user's hand is in the natural position of supporting the gun. 摘要： A target senses whether and where it has been struck by a laser light. The target includes a screen for allowing laser light to pass through, a plurality of light sensors behind the screen, and an optical display associated with one or more of the light sensors. When the target is struck by a laser light, a sensor records the strike, and the target may be struck with laser light multiple times, whereby different sensors may record the different strikes. To determine whether and where the target has been struck, the user activates a display mode that causes the optical displays in the target to illuminate. The user can then reset the target so the user can begin again.

When the firing pin of the gun is activated it strikes the backer, which contacts the circuit and activates the laser. The cartridge laser trainer may also have one or more O-rings to keep it positioned properly in the gun barrel. Also disclosed are kits that contain (1) a plurality of sheaths and a cartridge laser trainer, or (2) a plurality of O-rings and a cartridge laser trainer. Each sheath or O-ring(s) is configured to be positioned in a particular-sized gun bore and is configured to receive a cartridge laser trainer. With a kit, a single cartridge laser trainer can be used with more than one size of gun bore.
