    • The aperture setting blades, which are drivingly coupled to a step-motor, have main openings which define the main aperture through which a subject is focused upon the photosensitive recording medium, and incident light control means adapted to control the quantity of light from the subject incident upon a photosensitive transducer. In response to the output from the photosensitive transducer, the transmission of clock pulses from a pulse generator to a step-motor control circuit is controlled so that the main aperture may be opened to the optimum opening area depending upon the brightness of the subject. Light control means consists of an auxiliary aperture defined by auxiliary openings cut through the shutter blades and adapted to change its opening area in proportion to that of the main aperture or an electro-optical element such as a liquid crystal or Kerr cell whose light transmissibility changes when subjected to the electric field which is changed in response to the opening area of the main aperture.

The control circuit includes a pulse generator, a circuit for determining the number of pulses to be applied to the stepping motor in response to the brightness of the subject so that the shutter blades may be opened to define an aperture optimum for that brightness, a time constant circuit for determining the exposure time; that is, the time interval from the time when the shutter blades begin to open to the time when they are closed again as a function of the aperture defined depending upon the brightness of the subject, a circuit for changing the time constant of the time constant circuit depending upon the opening pulses applied to the stepping motor, a circuit for causing the stepping motor to close the shutter blades after they are opened to define the desired aperture, a circuit for resetting the above circuits immediately after the shutter blades are closed again, and a circuit for selectively connecting the above circuits to a power supply.

    • The invention is directed to an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine which includes a housing having therein a first core, a second core which is received in the housing and magnetically connected to the first core for forming a magnetic path therewith, a bobbin having a cylindrical portion for receiving therein the second core with an end face thereof exposed to the outside of the cylindrical portion, a primary winding wound around the bobbin, a secondary winding wound around the primary winding in co-axial relationship therewith, and a permanent magnet which is disposed between the first core and the second core. The permanent magnet has a planar surface connected to the end face of the second core, and an extending end portion which extends out of the end face of the second core. The housing and the bobbin are arranged to enclose the extending end portion of the permanent magnet. Then, a synthetic resin is filled in the housing for fixing and insulating the first core, the second core, the primary winding, the secondary winding, and the permanent magnet. It may be so arranged that the housing has a stepped portion therein, and a recess is formed on the stepped portion for receiving the extending end portion of the permanent magnet, so as to shield the extending end portion. In addition, this extending end portion may be shielded by a wall portion formed on the bobbin.
