摘要： The present invention provides a bead comprising: i) an external zone comprising a super absorbent polymer (SAP) that is capable of absorbing at least about 5 times its weight in water, surrounding ii) at least one internal zone comprising a core that contains at least one agrochemical, wherein the external zone is permeable to oxygen when hydrated, or the internal zone is formulated to release the at least one agrochemical into the external zone over a period of at least about one week when the hydrogel of the external zone is hydrated. The present invention also provides methods of using beads of the invention.

Also disclosed is an agrochemical delivery unit comprising (a) a cell comprising two or more cell wall segments wherein at least one segment is impermeable to water and at least one segment is permeable to water; and (ii) an agrochemical within the cell. The invention provides methods of making and using the units.

In one preferred embodiment, the system includes a high performance high reliability storage medium configured for initial storage of data, a low performance high reliability storage medium configured for backup of data initially stored on the high performance high reliability storage medium, and a high performance low reliability storage medium, configured to receive data transferred from the high performance high reliability storage medium, after the data has been backed up on the low performance high reliability storage medium. This significantly reduces the cost of the system without substantially comprising performance. Reliability is likewise maintained owing to the high reliability backup.
