    • According to one embodiment, a power detector includes a reference voltage generator, a square signal generator, a detection circuit, and an output circuit. The reference voltage generator is configured to receive a bias voltage and generate a reference voltage. The square signal generator is configured to receive a voltage having a high frequency input voltage superimposed on the bias voltage and output a signal including the reference voltage, a voltage of a square of the high frequency input voltage, and a high-frequency signal. The detection circuit has a first lowpass filter, a first operational amplifier configured to amplify error between an output voltage of the first lowpass filter and the reference voltage and output the error as a control voltage, and a feedback transistor configured to feed a feedback current according to the control voltage back to an output terminal of the square signal generator.

    • There are provided a method for reinforcing a splice part and a reinforcing structure, which enable reinforcement of a splice part of optical fiber cores with sufficient strength.The method is for reinforcing a fusion splice part S where optical fiber cores 12 extending from sheaths 16 of a pair of optical cables 11 are spliced to each other, wherein a reinforcing member 131 is provided along the fusion splice part S so that both ends of the reinforcing member 131 overlap with each of the sheaths 16 of the optical cables 11; an adhesive tube 134 covers the periphery of the fusion splice part S provided with the reinforcing member 131 so that both ends of the adhesive tube 134 overlap with each of the sheaths 16 of the optical cables, and is contracted; and a protective tube 135 covers the periphery of the adhesive tube 134 so that both ends of the protective tube 135 overlap with each of the sheaths 16 of the optical cables 11, the adhesive tube 134 is outwardly projected in the length direction, and is contracted.
