摘要： A numerically controlled machine tool for machining a non-circular workpiece according to profile data. The servomotor drive unit of the machine tool includes a frequency voltage converter which outputs a velocity compensation signal proportional to the frequency of position command pulses in the servomotor drive units. A position error signal is modulated by the velocity compensation signal. The numerical controller of the machine tool can measure the position error and phase error, and can compensate for these errors. The numerical controller operates according to ideal profile data and measures the actual position change of a tool slide corresponding to the angle position change of a main spindle. Then, the numerical controller calculates the position error and phase error depending on the actual position change and ideal profile data, and produces execution profile data which are compensated for position error. During machining operation, the numerical controller offsets the rear out position of the execution profile data by the calculated phase error so as to eliminate the phase error.

摘要： Wear on the dressing tool is derived from an amount of movement that a grinding wheel is advanced until issuance of a signal from a sizing device for correcting data on the radius of the grinding wheel. The data on the radius of the grinding wheel is thus indicative of an actual radius of the grinding wheel regardless of a variation in the grinding wheel radius due to the wear of a dressing tool. Accordingly, the grinding surface of the grinding wheel can be exactly positioned at a grinding start position after the grinding wheel has been returned to its original position upon power supply failure, emergency machine shutdown or the like, so that any unwanted interference between the grinding wheel and a workpiece can be avoided.

摘要： A synchronous control system for a pair of spindles of a machine tool including a master spindle and a slave spindle. Current positions of the main spindles are detected, and a deviation between the detected current positions is calculated. In case the deviation is within 180 degrees, the current position of one of the main spindles which precedes in the forward direction of rotation is determined as a target position for positioning. In case the deviation is greater than 180 degrees, the detected current position of the master spindle or the slave spindle is offset by an amount equal to an integral number of times 180 degrees so that the deviation between current positions of the main spindles after such offset is within 180 degrees. Then, that one of the current position of the main spindle thus offset and the current position of the other main spindle not offset which precedes in the forward direction of rotation is determined as a common target position for positioning. When a positioning instruction is provided by an operator, the main spindle which follows in the forward direction of rotation is controlled so that the position of rotation of the following main spindle approaches the target position.

摘要： An intelligent machining system employs a neural network for calculating machining conditions on the basis of attribute data or a workpiece and a grinding machine. The system comprises a reference machining condition calculating unit, a neural network which receives the attribute data and provides corrections, and a correcting unit for correcting the reference machining conditions by using the corrections. Corrections which cannot be determined by means of empirical expressions or theoretical expressions are determined appropriately by the neural network previously learned. The system determines corrections for the machining conditions on the basis of machining errors decided by a neural network. The system also detects time-series machining phenomena by sensors, processes the output detection signals of the sensors by a neural network to obtain machining circumstance data. The feed rate of the tool is controlled by a fuzzy inference on the basis of the machining circumstance data.

摘要： A numerical controller is provided wherein each time one data block of a numerical control program is transferred from a second buffer register to an active register, another data block successive thereto is transferred from a data storage device to a first buffer register and wherein a plunge infeed between a cylindrical workpiece and a grinding wheel of a grinding machine is effected in accordance with data block being stored in the active register. The numerical controller halts an automatic machining operation in response to a halt command of a data block in the active register. Compensation data is input during the halt of the automatic machining operation whereafter a restart command is input. The numerical controller modified feed command data of the numerical control program stored in the data storage device, based upon the compensation data. In response to the restart command, the numerical controller transfers to the first buffer register a modified data block successive to that including the halt command, whereby the grinding wheel is moved in accordance with the modified data block transferred then to the active register.
