    • In a headrest, a first connecting portion, including a first link and a second link relatively rotatably supported to the first link, is provided between a base portion and a receive portion movable between a first and second positions adjacent to/separate from the base portion. A drive portion drives the first connecting portion through a drive input portion provided at least either one of the first and second links by applying a driving force to the drive input portion in a moving direction of the receive portion toward the second position. First and second end portions of the first link are supported by the base portion and the receive portion through first and second pivot points. First and second end portions of the second link are slidably connected to first and second guide portions respectively provided at the base portion and the receive portion through first and second connecting points.

    • A seat back reclining mechanism for a vehicle seat includes an upper and lower brackets respectively secured to the seat back and the seat cushion. A reduction gear mechanism is provided between the upper and lower brackets for a stepless adjustment of the reclining angle. An actuating knob is located at one side of the seat cushion for the convenience of operation. A belt-sprocket type motion transmitting mechanism is provided between the actuating knob and the reduction gear mechanism for transmitting a rotation of the knob to the gear mechanism. In order to prevent the seat back from being inclined under the load applied by the passenger, a constraining device is provided for preventing the motion transmitting mechanism from transmitting the force from the reduction gear mechanism.

    • A spring coupler comprises a casing, a drive member rotatably mounted within the casing including a main portion and a core portion fixedly connected thereto by staking manner, a driven member rotatably mounted within the casing including a main portion and a core portion fixedly connected thereto by stacking manner and engageable with the core portion of the drive member upon rotation thereof, and a coil spring disposed between the drive member and the casing so as to be engaged frictionally with the casing in the free state thereof and including a first tang and a second tang. In this spring coupler, the first tang and the second tang of the coil spring are engaged with the core portion of the drive member in rotation in one direction and the other direction respectively before the drive member is brought into engagement with the core of the driven member thereby reducing the radius of the coil spring whereas the first tang and the second tang of the coil spring are engaged with the core portion of the driven member in rotation in one direction and the other direction respectively, thereby expanding the radius of the coil spring. The main portion and the core portion are fixedly connected with each other by staking manner so that less time and less cumbersome operations are required for assembling the drive member and/or the driven member.
