    • The invention pertains to a process for the manufacture of a perfluorovinylether by hydrodehalogenation of a halofluoroether (HFE) having general formula (I-A) or (I-B): RfO—CRf′X—CRf″Rf′″X″  (I-A) wherein Rf represents a C1-C6 perfluoro(oxy)alkyl group; Rf′, Rf″ and Rf′″, equal or different from each other, independently represent fluorine atoms or C1-C5 perfluoro(oxy)alkyl groups; X and X′, equal or different from each other, are independently chosen among Cl, Br or I; wherein Rf* and Rf*′, equal or different from each other, independently represent fluorine atoms or C1-C3 perfluoro(oxy)alkyl groups; Y1 and Y2, equal or different from each other, independently represent fluorine atoms or C1-C3 perfluoroalkyl groups; X and X′ are as above defined; said process comprising contacting said halofluoroether (HFE) with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst comprising palladium and at least one transition metal (M) selected from the group consisting of the metals of group VIIIB, other than palladium, and of group IB.

    • The invention pertains to a process for preparing compounds of formula (I-A) or (I-B) here below: by reaction of perfluoroallylfluorosulfate (FAFS) of formula (II): with at least one hypofluorite of formula (II-A) or (II-B): wherein: RF in formulae (I-A) and (II-A) is a monovalent fluorocarbon C1-C20 group, optionally comprising oxygen catenary atoms, optionally comprising functional groups comprising heteroatoms (e.g. —SO2F groups); R′F in formulae (I-B) and (II-B) is a divalent fluorocarbon C1-C6 group, preferably a group of formula wherein X1 and X2, equal to or different from each other, are independently a fluorine atom or a C1-C3 fluorocarbon group. The FAFS-hypofluorite adducts of formulae (I-A) and (I-B) can be produced with high selectivity so as to access useful intermediates which can further be reacted taking advantage of the un-modified fluorosulfate group chemistry.

    • A process for the manufacture of a perfluorooxycarboxylate of formula (I): RfO—CF2CF2—O—CF2—COOXa (I), wherein Rf is a perfluoro(oxy)alkyl group, and Xa is H, a monovalent metal or an ammonium group of formula NRN4, with RN, equal or different at each occurrence, being H or a C1-6 hydrocarbon group, said process comprising: (A) reacting a perfluorovinylether of formula Rf—O—CF═CF2 with an ethylene glycol derivative selected among ethylene glycol (HO—CH2CH2—OH), glycolic acid (HO—CH2—COOH), glycolaldehyde (HO—CH2—CHO) and protected derivatives thereof, so as to yield the corresponding addition product of formula Rf—O—CFH—CF2—O—CH2-E, and E being selected among —CH2OH, —COOH and —CHO; (B) optionally protecting functional group E with suitable chemistry; (C) fluorinating the (protected) addition product to yield the corresponding perfluorinated addition product; (D) optionally deprotecting the perfluorinated addition product to yield corresponding acyl fluoride of formula Rf—O—CF2—CF2—O—CF2—C(O)F; and (E) hydrolyzing and, optionally, neutralizing, the acyl fluoride for yielding the perfluorooxycarboxylate of formula (I).
