    • An economically advantageous method of recovering uranium from a wet process phosphoric acid solution through the steps of making hemihydrate gypsum contact with the acid solution thereby transferring uranium from the acid solution into the gypsum, dispersing the U-containing gypsum separated from the acid solution in water to convert the gypsum to dihydrate accompanied by the transfer of uranium into water, separating the obtained U-containing aqueous solution from the dihydrate gypsum, and adding precipitant such as an inorganic base to the aqueous solution to form a precipitate comprising an insoluble uranium compound. The contact of hemihydrate gypsum with the phosphoric acid solution is preferably preceded by reduction of hexavalent uranium in the acid solution to tetravalent uranium, and can be achieved either by adding hemihydrate gypsum to the acid solution or by converting dihydrate gypsum to hemihydrate within the acid solution preferably preceded by the addition of sulfuric acid.

    • An extrusion-molding apparatus for a loose tube includes: an extrusion head that includes a tip and a die concentrically arranged therewithin and extrudes a tube between the tip and the die; a needle that feeds at least one optical fiber and filler to be filled around the optical fiber into the tube being extrusion-molded; and a cylindrical bundling member provided within the needle. The bundling member has a bundling hole being smaller than an inner diameter of the tube at a center thereof and into which the optical fiber can pass through, and a flow pass penetrating along a feeding direction of the filler between the bundling hole and an inner circumferential surface of the needle. In an extrusion molding method using the extrusion-molding apparatus, the optical fiber is passed through a bundling hole to be bundled at an almost center of the tube. In addition, filler is passed through a flow path to be filled around the optical fiber.

    • A motorcycle that can facilitate identification of and taking in and out of an article stored below a rear seat includes a storage box that is mounted to a body frame. The front portion of the storage box is covered by a front seat. The rear portion of the storage box is covered by the rear seat and the rear seat is surrounded by the rear spoiler. The rear spoiler has an opening portion that is almost-rectangular as viewed from above. When the rear seat is removed, an article can be put in and taken out from the storage box through the opening portion. A first seal member is attached to the bottom plate of the rear seat, and is pressed against the circumferential edge portion of the opening portion to thereby seal between the rear seat and the rear spoiler.
