    • A relay connector (10) for joining together two lengths of flat printed circuitry or flat flexible cable is formed from two connector housings (31) of identical shape. The two housings are joined together by a set of conductive terminals (41) and housing engagement members. The terminals are bilaterally symmetrical and have contact and engagement portions at their ends which are received in terminal-receiving grooves in the rear of the two housings. A pair of actuators (11) are rotatably mounted to the housings and they move in opposite directions to open and close.

    • An adapter, along with a method of fabricating the adapter, for a memory card connector to enable a miniature memory card to be inserted into a larger, standard memory card connector. A two-part housing is provided of a size and shape to simulate a standard memory card. The housing includes a base housing part defining a substantial portion of an inner cavity for receiving a miniature memory card. An inner housing part is separate from and independent of the base housing part. A plurality of terminals are mounted on the inner housing part to define a subassembly which is mounted on the base housing part. Each terminal includes a first contact portion at one end thereof for engaging an appropriate contact on the standard memory card connector. Each terminal includes a second contact portion at an opposite end thereof for engaging an appropriate contact of the miniature memory card.

    • A cable connector includes a housing with an insertion recess for receiving an end of a flat cable and a plurality of terminals disposed in the housing for connecting to conductive leads of the flat cable. An actuator is attached to the housing so that the attitude of the actuator can be changed between a first position at which the flat cable can be inserted into the opening and a second position at which the actuator presses the conductive leads of the inserted flat cable into contact with the terminals. The actuator is attached to the housing at a cable insertion end side thereof and brought to the second position when the attitude of the actuator is changed in an insertion direction of the flat plate-like cable. A fulcrum of the attitude-changing movement of the actuator in the insertion direction is positioned further from the second position, as viewed from an effort point of a force applied by the flat cable to the actuator at the second position, than a point of action of the force being applied.

    • Disclosed is an improved card connector comprising a shell assembly and a pin connector assembly. The pin connector assembly includes an insulating housing mounting upper and lower rows of signal terminals and an upper and lower grounding terminal. The signal terminals include connection pins arranged in upper and lower rows and solder tails for connecting to an underlying printed circuit board. The upper grounding terminal includes a downwardly extending rear wall having window apertures formed therein. The upper rows of signal pins pass through the window apertures without contacting the grounding terminal and terminate at the solder tails. The upper and lower grounding terminals are electrically coupled, and a single row of DIP-type solder tails extending from the lower grounding terminals can be soldered to selected conductors on a printed circuit board to couple both of the grounding terminals to a ground circuit of the printed circuit board.

    • An external signal synchronized message signaling apparatus which outputs a particular message to channels of a time division output frame in accordance with a state of an external signal is disclosed. The message signaling apparatus includes a switch buffer, a selector, a message memory, a read control memory and a read controller.
