摘要： A cathode-ray tube includes a glass envelope having a panel with an inner surface formed with a phosphor screen, and a cylindrical neck extending substantially coaxially with a tube axis. An electron gun is arranged in the neck, and a stem is welded to an end of the neck. The stem has a substantially circular disk-like flare made of glass and having an outer peripheral portion welded to the end of the neck, and a plurality of stem pins attached to the flare. The end of the neck and the flare of the stem are welded to each other such that a glass portion of the flare surrounds a glass portion of the end of the neck from outside.

摘要： In a color cathode ray tube apparatus, a main electron lens unit for converging three in-line electron beams on a phosphor screen is formed of a plurality of electrodes, including at least first, second, and third electrodes, which are arranged from the cathode side toward the phosphor screen. An asymmetric electron lens, which horizontally diverges and vertically converges the electron beams, is formed on the cathode side in a lens effect region of a first electron lens composed of the second and third electrodes, and an asymmetric second electron lens, which has one effect with respect to the horizontal direction of the electron beams and another with respect to the vertical direction, is formed between the first and second electrodes, at the least. In this arrangement, the effects of the second lens to converge and diverge the electron beams in the horizontal and vertical directions, respectively, are enhanced, and the effects of the first electron lens are attenuated, depending on the deflection of the electron beams by means of a deflection yoke. Thus, the horizontal and vertical diameters of beam spots at the peripheral portion of a picture can be reduced.

摘要： The trick article giving an illusive cutting of a stick-like thing such as a cigarette or pencil and restoring its initial state, according to the present invention comprising an opaque disk-like rotary member disposed rotatably on a base, transparent auxiliary rotary members movable circumferentially as interlocked with the rotary member, and a housing which encases the rotary member and auxiliary rotary members. The rotary member and auxiliary rotary members have formed therein a main channel and sub channels, respectively, in which the stick-like thing is inserted from an insertion hole formed in the housing. The auxiliary rotary members have fixed therein deceptive stick-like things identical to the front and rear end portions, respectively, of the stick-like thing. When the rotary member is in its first angular position, end portions of the actual stick-like thing are visible through windows formed in the housing. When the rotary member is quickly rotated from the first to the second angular position, the portions of the actual stick-like thing disappear but the deceptive stick-like things fixed in the auxiliary rotary members moved as interlocked with the rotary member will appear in the windows of the housing. The audience will recognize only the existence of the rotary member. Therefore, even if the rotary member is rotated along with the stick-like thing, the portions of the stick-like thing (actually, deceptive stick-like things) will still appear in the windows in the housing. So the audience will have an illusion that the stick-like thing is cut into three pieces.

摘要： A color cathode ray tube apparatus is provided with an electron gun assembly which emits three electron beams and focuses and converges the electron beam onto a phosphor screen. In the gun assembly, the electron beams generated from cathodes are accelerated and controlled by first and second grids and pass through third, fourth and fifth grids. The third and fourth grids have single rectangular apertures common to the three electron beams, respectively, which are faced to each other and have different heights and widths. Each of the fourth and fifth grids have individual apertures which allow the corresponding electron beams to pass therethrough, respectively. The third and fifth grids is maintained at fixed potentials and a potential of the fourth grid is adjusted. Thus, individual focusing and convergence electron lenses are formed between the fourth and fifth grids. A single and common asymmetrical electron lens is formed between the third and fourth grids, when a potential difference between the third and fourth grids is produced. A misconvergence of three electron beams produced due to the adjustment of the individual electron lenses is corrected by the common asymmetrical electron lens in such a manner that the side electron beams are deflected in accordance with the potential difference.
