摘要： A color cathode ray tube apparatus is provided with an electron gun assembly which emits three electron beams and focuses and converges the electron beam onto a phosphor screen. In the gun assembly, the electron beams generated from cathodes are accelerated and controlled by first and second grids and pass through third, fourth and fifth grids. The third and fourth grids have single rectangular apertures common to the three electron beams, respectively, which are faced to each other and have different heights and widths. Each of the fourth and fifth grids have individual apertures which allow the corresponding electron beams to pass therethrough, respectively. The third and fifth grids is maintained at fixed potentials and a potential of the fourth grid is adjusted. Thus, individual focusing and convergence electron lenses are formed between the fourth and fifth grids. A single and common asymmetrical electron lens is formed between the third and fourth grids, when a potential difference between the third and fourth grids is produced. A misconvergence of three electron beams produced due to the adjustment of the individual electron lenses is corrected by the common asymmetrical electron lens in such a manner that the side electron beams are deflected in accordance with the potential difference.

摘要： A color cathode ray tube includes an electron gun for generating and focusing three in-line electron beams, and a pair of electrodes disposed down stream of a pre-focus lens and forming a final main lens. Each of the pair of electrodes have a common single opening for the three in-line electron beams in an end thereof opposing another of the pair of electrodes. A shield cup is fixed to a final electrode of the electron gun and has applied thereto the same potential which is applied the final electrode, the shield cup having a single aperture common to the three in-line electron beams. A focusing action of the pre-focus lens and a focusing action of the main lens are different between a center electron beam and a side electron beam of said three in-line electron beams, respectively.

摘要： A multistep focusing electron gun for a cathode ray tube includes at least a unipotential auxiliary lens and a bipotential major lens, wherein the electron beam-passing hole of the middle electrode supplied with a low potential among a successive three electrodes forming the unipotential auxiliary lens is formed in the form of a square and has a size so that the electron beam-passing holes of the electrode disposed at the front and at the rear of the middle electrode can be inscribed. The intensity of the unipotential auxiliary lens is weakened without reducing the mechanical strength of the electrode, and also the change of the relative position between the electrodes resulted from the structure change is inhibited.
