    • A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel having an active area in which pixels are arranged in a matrix including first and second signal lines and connecting lines. The second signal lines and connecting lines extend in a column direction in the active area. The first signal lines extend in a row direction so as to cross the second signal lines and the connecting lines. The first signal lines are connected to the connecting lines through contact portions provided at the cross area where the first signal lines cross with the connecting lines interposing an insulating layer. The second signal lines and the connecting lines are pulled out from the active area to a signal supply source provided at outside of the active area without detouring in a peripheral region of the display panel.

    • A display device includes a light guiding fixed electrode portion formed of a transparent material for guiding light incident from an exterior to the surface portion having a transparent conductive layer and then emitting the light, a flexible conductive light shielding plate arranged to face the transparent conductive layer of the light guiding fixed electrode portion and having one end fixed to pass the emitted light therethrough, and an electrostatic force generating circuit for applying a potential difference between the conductive light shielding plate and the transparent conductive layer to generate electrostatic force between the transparent conductive layer and the conductive light shielding plate, wherein the conductive light shielding plate is displaced according to the electrostatic force with one end thereof set as an axis to shield the surface portion of the light guiding fixed electrode portion when the potential difference is applied between the conductive light shielding plate and the transparent conductive layer.

    • According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a first gate line, a second gate line, a common line, a first electrode, an insulation film, and a second electrode. The common line includes a first edge, which has a non-linear shape and is formed at a first distance from the first gate line, and a second edge, which is formed at a second distance, which is shorter than the first distance, from the second gate line. The first electrode is disposed between the first gate line and the second gate line and put in contact with the common line. The insulation film is disposed above the first electrode. The second electrode is disposed above the insulation film, opposed to the first electrode, extending immediately above the first edge of the common line, and having a slit formed therein.

    • A liquid crystal display device comprising a liquid crystal cell including a pair of substrates each having an alignment film on the surface thereof, and a liquid crystal filled in a space between the substrates, which is provided with a plurality of alignment regions, each region having the direction of alignment or the rise direction of liquid crystal molecule different from another region within a display region. C., or an imidization degree of not less than 90%, or a polyimide obtained by reacting tetracarboxylic acid di-anhydride with a di-amine compound, or a polyimide obtained by imidizing a polyimide, the tetracarboxylic acid di-anhydride moiety being prohibited of the free rotation thereof.
