摘要： In a method for fixing tubing of a cardiac lead to a termination element, such as an electrode or a pin connector and in a cardiac lead formed according to such a method, an exterior of the termination element is provided with a thermoplastic fixation element, and thermoplastic tubing is provided with an end portion that coaxially surrounds a portion of the fixation element. A section of the end portion of the thermoplastic tubing is fused to the thermoplastic fixation element, so that the thermoplastic tubing is fixed to the termination element.

摘要： A medical implant device or component thereof comprising a metal substrate and a coating layer structure provided on the substrate. The coating layer structure comprises an outermost layer of a ceramic material. A bonding structure is deposited between the metal substrate and the coating layer structure. The bonding structure comprises a chromium rich layer, which is deposited onto the metal substrate surface and has a higher concentration of chromium than the metal substrate, as well as a gradient layer having a composition gradient from the chromium rich layer towards the surface of the device providing increasing proportions of a gradient material which has structural correspondence with the layer of the coating layer structure that is most adjacent to the bonding structure.

摘要： In a device and method for a medical implant for monitoring progression of heart failure in a human heart, an activity sensor provides information related to the activity level of a patient and an oxygen sensor provides information related to the level of oxygen content in venous blood. A determined level of venous oxygen content at a determined activity level is obtained, and that level of venous oxygen content is compared to stored values at a corresponding activity level. The result of the comparison is used as a basis for determining a degree of heart failure.

摘要： In a method and apparatus for determining the replacement time of an electric battery in an implantable medical device, the battery being a hybrid battery with a combination of at least two electrode materials, one of which having better properties for high current pulsing and the other of which being a high energy density material, an electrical pulse of a predetermined duration and predetermined amplitude is drawn from the battery. The pulse amplitude significantly exceeds a base current drawn from the battery. The difference between voltages measured across the battery terminals before the pulse is emitted and at an end of the pulse is determined. The battery replacement time is determined from the voltage difference according to a predetermined criterion.
