    • A spreading spring for a floating-caliper or a fist-type caliper spot-type disc brake for automotive vehicles, comprising a spreading spring portion (30) which extends substantially in axial direction and forms two legs (34,36), the end portions of the legs (34,36) abutting on backing portions of brake pads (16,18). A resilient bracket (28) connected thereto extends substantially in circumferential direction and forms two legs (54,56) with the ends of the resilient bracket being supported on retaining pins (22,24). To accomplish favorable force distribution of the spring without impairing the function of the brake, the legs (34,36) of the spreading spring portion (30) are of different length, the ends of the resilient bracket (28) contain indentations (58,60) which provide contact points for abutment of the resilient bracket legs (54,56) on the respective retaining pins, and that indentations (58,60) are disposed on that side of the resilient bracket (28) which is close to the longer leg (36) of the spreading spring portion (30).

    • A disc brake includes brake pads (7), which are slidably received on either side of a brake disc within guide portions (6) of the disc brake, and including a spring arrangement (10) for spring cushioning the brake pads (7). Disc brakes of this type are frequently used in motor vehicles. To improve the spring cushioning of the brake pads, the spring arrangement (10) is equipped with at least one radial spring element (11) for radially clamping the brake pads (7) with respect to the guide portions (6), at least one axial spring element (22) for axially clamping the brake pads (7) in relation to each other, and at least one tangential spring element (18) for tangentially clamping the brake pads (7) in relation to the guide portions (6). The three spring elements (11, 18, 22) act in different spatial dimensions and can be embodied as separate components which are independent of each other.

    • Disclosed is a spot-type disc brake (1) having a spring assembly (10, 20) for active adjustment of a clearance between a brake lining (4) and a brake disc. A spring assembly (10, 20) of this type ensures that the brake linings (4) are appropriately lifted from the brake disc after brake application is completed. In this arrangement, the spot-type disc brake (1) includes a brake caliper (3) straddling a brake disc, at least one brake lining (4) displaceably arranged in relation to the brake caliper (3), at least one actuating device (5) arranged in the brake caliper (3) for exerting an application force on the brake lining (4), and a spring assembly (10, 20) which is detachably fastened in the spot-type disc brake (1). The spring assembly (10, 20) includes a spring element (11, 21) which is at least radially and axially supported on the brake caliper (3) and includes a spring clip (12, 22) connected to the spring element (11, 21) and being detachably fastened at the brake lining (4) by way of two spring arms (13, 23). A spring arrangement (10, 20) of this type allows adjusting a constant clearance and can be easily mounted in addition.
