摘要： A modular system for reducing the total suspended solids of waste, including scum, sludge and water layers, includes a plurality of chambers each being connected in succession by a corresponding one of a plurality of flow pipe segments including an inlet segment, an outlet segment and at least one middle segment, wherein the waste enters the septic tank via the inlet segment and is transferred between each of the plurality of chambers via the at least one middle segment; a corrugated flow pipe in fluid flow communication with the outlet segment; and the corrugated flow pipe being sized and configured for use as a settling zone for removal of a portion of the total suspended solids and wherein an amount of water from the water layer within the chamber adjacent the outlet segment enters the corrugated flow pipe and passes through the outlet segment.

摘要： A high pressure heat exchanger assembly for a compressor having a shell and tube-type design. An elongated bundle assembly is received within the shell. The bundle assembly has a plurality of elongated tubes extending generally longitudinally through the shell. The tubes are securely affixed to fixed and floating tube sheet assemblies positioned at opposite ends of the shell. The fixed tube sheet assembly is securely attached to one end of the shell and the floating tube sheet assembly is allowed to float with respect to the other end of the shell. A seal between the floating tube sheet assembly and the end of the shell prevents the escape of internal fluids. Each tube sheet assembly is provided with an inner and outer tube sheet member separated by a plurality of spacers to create a vented space therebetween open to the outside atmosphere. The elongated tubes are sealingly press-fit within the inner and outer tube sheets of the fixed and floating tube sheet assemblies to provide a fixed connection therebetween. A plurality of spring devices are utilized to bias the floating tube sheet assembly towards the shell to counteract opposing internal shell pressure forces created within the shell assembly which may stress the press-fit tube-to-tube sheet connections.

摘要： A compressed gas cooling apparatus in which gas from an upstream compression stage enters an inlet section from an inlet opening and flows to a heat exchanger that cools the gas. The cooled gas then flows from the heat exchanger to the outlet section where the gas is discharged from an outlet opening. Pressure drop within the apparatus is decreased by providing the inlet and outlet sections with ever increasing and decreasing cross-sectional flow areas. In order to further decrease pressure drop due to a swirl within the gas flow imparted from the upstream compression stage, the inlet section is provided with first and second subsections wherein the cross-sectional flow area of the first subsection increases at lesser rate than the second subjection. Alternatively, or in addition, the inlet section can be provided with partitions to divide the gas flow into subflows in order to lessen pressure drop from swirl.

摘要： A compression method, a multistage compression system and an air separation method and plant in which a gas is compressed in a series of compression stages to produce a compressed gas and each of the compression stages incorporate a variable speed compressor. In such compression method and system, the compressed air is produced at a pressure that remains stable during both normal operational conditions and during turn down conditions during which the flow rate of the gas is reduced. This reduction is accomplished by reducing the speed of the compressor in an initial compression stage such that the compressor operates at a point along its peak efficiency operating line at which the pressure ratio is directly proportional to the flow rate and such that the lower turn down flow rate is obtained at a reduced pressure which is made up in successive compression stages.
