    • An electrical outlet box is molded of plastic and includes push-in type screw receiving openings each of which is defined by rigid first and second walls having opposed semi-cylindrical faces mounted in spaced and axially aligned relationship to produce a generally cylindrical passage open at an outer end. Threads are formed about the interior of the cylindrical passage. In a first embodiment, the first wall is supported and carried substantially entirely by a resilient support wall lying in a plane generally perpendicular to the axis of the cylindrical passage. The support wall is mounted in cantilever fashion at a location spaced radially from the axis of the cylindrical passage so that the first wall can resiliently deflect away from the second wall when a screw is pushed axially into the passageway. In a second embodiment, both the first and second walls are mounted by resilient support walls to allow deflection in the manner described.

    • A connector fitting by which corrugated conduit can be quickly connected to an electrical box. The fitting includes a pair of hingedly interconnected semi-cylindrical collars. Two spaced, box engaging projections are carried on, and extend axially from each of the semi-cylindrical collars, and the inner side of each semi-cylindrical collar is grooved to mate with and engage corrugations carried exteriorly on a corrugated conduit to be connected to an electrical box by the use of the fitting. Each of the box engaging projections includes a wedge shaped free end portion and a web portion by which the wedge shaped free end portion is connected to one of the respective collars. Each wedge-shaped end portion, its associated web portion and the collar to which the web portion is connected define an arcuate channel or relief for receiving and engaging the portion of the wall of an electrical box which surrounds an opening into which the connector fitting is snapped.

    • An electrical outlet box optionally having in combination therewith, a connector fitting for connecting a corrugated conduit to the box, the box having a back wall and at least one side wall of synthetic resin. A pressure removable plug is displaced out of the plane of the side wall so as to provide a precisely delineated zone of weakness surrounding the plug. When one preferred type of connector fitting is used in combination with the box, a wedge-shaped end portion of the fitting, having a relatively small surface area, is manually pressed against the pressure removable plug along a pressure zone immediately radially inwardly from the zone of weakness. This pops the plug out of the wall of the box, leaving a neat, smooth hole into which the connector fitting may be inserted by continued manual pressure applied thereto. The connector fitting includes an expandable cylindrical body portion, and further includes an external circumferential groove at the intersection of the cylindrical body portion with the wedge-shaped end portion. The edge of the wall which defines the opening formed on removal of the plug snaps into this groove to interlock the connector fitting in the wall of the box.

    • A spring fastener or clip of generally V-shaped configuration and including a first, substantially monoplanar leg joined to a second, substantially monoplanar leg through a bend portion so that the legs define between them an acute angle from about 43.degree. to about 48.degree.. The second leg has a circular aperture formed through a central portion, and the first leg has a tongue or tine pressed out of a central portion of the first leg and projecting generally toward the center of the aperture in the second leg, and at an acute angle of from about 22.degree. to about 28.degree. to the plane of the first leg. The tongue projects a distance from the plane of the first leg, as measured normal to that plane, and so as to include the thickness of the first leg, which is from about one-half to about two-thirds of the total distance of projection of the bend portion of the fastener from the plane of the first leg, also as measured normal to the plane of the first leg, and so as to include the thickness thereof.The invention also includes and relates to fasteners of the type described in combination with a synthetic resin box which has an open side, and which has a cover plate secured across the open side of the box by the use of said fasteners and screws. The box carries a plurality of the fasteners having the first described leg of each pressed into an accommodating slot in the box adjacent the open side thereof. The box further defines an elongated screw-accommodating passageway adjacent each of the slots, and extending parallel to the respective slot and to the first leg of the respective fastener when placed in its respective slot. A second leg of each fastener extends across the respective adjacent screw-accommodating passageway formed in the box, and has the centrally located circular aperture therethrough generally aligned with the screw-accommodating passageway axis, although the center of the circular aperture is slightly offset with respect to the axis of the screw-accommodating passageway axis.
