The invention also includes a method of adding fragrance to a preparation and a method of improving the solubility of perfume in a preparation comprising adding 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol. The invention also includes methods of cleaning, deodorizing, or imparting fragrance by applying the preparation to the skin or to household items.
