摘要： Systems and methods are configured to facilitate the distribution of transaction accounts through distributors. An exemplary method includes the steps of: issuing a transaction account to a distributor, receiving information from the distributor via the MICR protocol used by the banking and financial services industries, wherein the information reports the distribution of the transaction account, and processing the information via a Travelers Cheque infrastructure. The transaction account may be a pre-paid card and the distributor may be a seller of pre-paid cards. Distribution of the transaction account may be facilitated by use of a sequential number, such as a Travelers Cheque number. Thus, the system may be configured to be compatible with existing Travelers Cheque communication systems already in place. Furthermore, a financial transaction device may include a card that bears a serialized number, such as a Travelers Cheque number, in a manner that can be read by MICR technology.

摘要： A medicament containment device (106) is provided containing a medicament (114) and is associated with an implant, such as an orthopedic implant (102). The medicament containment device (106) can degrade upon exposure to energy, such as energy (112) from an energy source (110). The orthopedic implant (102), including the medicament containment device is implanted or inserted into an environment (100) such as a patient's body. The energy source (110) can be used outside the patient's body, but in proximity to the orthopedic implant (102), to apply energy (112) to the medicament containment device (106). Upon exposure to the energy (112), the medicament containment device (106) can degrade and release the medicament (114) into the environment (100). The medicament (114) can kill and/or disrupt bacterial cells (108) or other infectious cells that form in proximity to the orthopedic implant (102).

摘要： The present invention relates to a pesticidal control device that includes at least one pesticidal active ingredient, cellulose fibers, and a polymer or polymer matrix. The combination of the cellulose fibers with the polymer allows for a higher loading of liquid pesticidal active ingredients within the pesticidal control device, maintains the active ingredient within the control device during transportation, storage and handling, and provides higher efficacy or control of pests during treatment. The pesticidal control device may be an ear tag, collar, or bee strip.

In particular, we describe an implant material comprising bioresorbable polymer granules and a biocompatible water-miscible solvent, wherein the solvent at least partially dissolves and/or softens the polymer granules to form a mouldable mass that can be used to fill a bone defect but hardens when water is added and/or the implant material is placed in an aqueous environment, and wherein the implant material has macroporosity suitable for bone in-growth.

The transaction instrument may be, for example, an open pre-paid card. The distribution of the transaction instrument may also include the step of sending a message, through the web site, in substantially real time, causing the pre-paid transaction instrument to be funded but not activated until later through an interactive voice response system, for example. In another example, an associated transaction account may be funded and activated at the time of distribution. Furthermore, an issuer system may be suitably configured to leverage existing Travelers Cheque infrastructure for inventory and related processes.
