摘要： A seal for sealing the annular space between the outer surface of a pile and the inner surface of a hollow-member such as a marine platform leg or skirt guide through which the pile is driven, the seal comprising an elastomeric body normally lying against the inner surface of the hollow member and peripherally attached thereto, and a cable encompassing the body such that when the cable is drawn tightly around the body in a central zone between its ends, the body is cinched or drawn into tight engagement with the pile to seal the annulus between it and the hollow member, for instance, while grout is being poured into the annulus and setting.

摘要： An off-shore deep water marine platform including on each platform leg one or more piling sleeves each intended to receive a piling driven through the sleeves into the bottom of the sea and the sleeves subsequently being secured to the driven piling by cement pumped into the annulus between each piling and its sleeve while the annulus is sealed by inflatable packer means, the improvement comprising improved packer inflating means including flexible lines extending to each packer from a protective access manifold on the platform deck, and these lines being clustered together and run down to the packers through rigid protective pipe including main protector pipes coupled to the manifolds and containing one or more flexible lines and extending down to branch protector pipes extending out from main protector pipes to particular packer locations and containing only the flexible line going to one such packer, and the protector pipes themselves being mounted so as to be protected by the marine platform structure.

摘要： An elastomeric cup structure of the type wherein several cups are mounted on a supporting body or mandrel to form a pig to be passed through a pipeline, usually entrained in fluid flowing therethrough, either for the purpose of batch separation or for cleaning the pipeline. Each cup has a sealing lip supported by an annular flex portion attached to a cup base, and the cup further including a disc portion attached to the base adjacent to the flex portion and standing radially outwardly to contact the pipeline''s inner surface and maintain the pig centered therein to relieve the sealing lips of this centering function. Several modifications of the cup structure include additional annular series of gussets for assisting the disc portion to remain substantially radially oriented.
